I am opening this thread to act as a central clearinghouse for all links, news, and rumors about Warmachine's new faction: the Convergence of Cyriss.
Personally, I am incredibly excited. I was originally going to start Cryx in the spring, but no more... I am going to become a Convergence of Cyriss player. The models have an incredibly distinctive art deco feel, and the rules seem unique and fun, but (hopefully) without being overpowered. I've got an all-metal scheme in mind, where each "type" will be painted with different metallics: something complex, like verdigris copper, for the warlocks, themed metals for the solos (gold for the mechanical angels, for example), and something more serviceable, like steel or iron, for warjacks and units
But enough about me... how about you talk about the Convergence? In particular, I'd love for links and rundowns from the video to be posted here, though I can't do it myself because most fun websites are blocked from where I am.

Well, here's something even I can post: this is the video that announces the new faction:

I'll rewatch the video and post a summary later, unless someone else gets to it first.

Good to see WM get a new faction, new factions always get me interested in a wargame. The art deco robot style is pretty cool. I was waiting to see if they'd do a faction that would appeal to me and this might be the closest so far.

Here's a great pic that shows (with limited detail) a warcaster, two warjacks, and a unit:
http://24.media.tumblr.com/8a4d815d8cb6b45cde32692518ee28ef/tumblr_mhkbefqFWk1rgb5qno1_1280.png
And a summary of the video for our discussing pleasure:
1) The faction is robot-focussed. All models pictured so far are robots.
2) Plot-wise, there is going to be a reason that they have only recently taken a direct, martial hand in the fate of Caen.
3) They will be visually distinct.
4) Some (all?) of the models are humans who have willingly become robot creatures.
5) The ability of the robot forms to change shape is going to be a visual (mechanical?) element. Some of this will simply be an excuse for rules we're all used it (shield wall shields that combine). The implication is that this will also inform the faction's unique rules.
6) Inspired by Art Deco (Chrysler Building) and Golden Ange Sci-Fi, with a semi-organic, semi-mechanical feel.
7) The Clockwork Angel (Unit? Solo? Warjack?) will be a flying, fast-moving melee unit.
8) The faction will feature a aight 'jack - the "Galvinizer" - that will repair other 'jacks.
9) One heavy warjack - the "Cypher" - has multiple ammunition types.
10) Tactically, highly flexible, highly synergistic (like a machine), highly efficient
11) Warcasters grant abilities to EVERY member of the battlegroup (for example, all members of the battlegroup get Shield Guard or Arc Node)
12) Once per turn, a Warjack that spends a focus point can give that focus point to another warjack in range.
13) Warjacks don't have an inherent MAT or RAT; instead, they have their warcaster's MAT and RAT.
14) Faction will be jack-focussed. You will be able to put many 'jacks on the table and rely on those 'jacks to do most of the heavy lifting for you.
What do you think of this?

Actually that pic is of 5 Jacks (3 Galvanizers, 1 Cipher, and I dont know the name of the other), a unit of some kind, and I originally thought that other model was a solo but it makes more sense for that pic that that is a Caster (most likely Father Lucant). Also if you watch that section of the video youll see that is a 25 point Battle group (3 Heavys, 3 Lights, a 10 man unit and Father Lucant). Im pretty sure the Clockwork Angel will likely be a unit of some kind ("one of their more compelling units is the clockwork angel" quoted from the video). Also these "jacks" do not have a Cortex in the traditional sense so will be interesting to see how they deal/take disruption.
Also already been confirmed that they will be done in a Forces book (so launch similiar to that of Retribution of Scyrah) and a Battle Group Box. In addition its been confirmed but unknown as to when these will be realeased but they already have a Cyriss Battle Engine (the TFEP cant remember the full name but thats the accronym hehe :) ) and a Colossal, the Primaxiam in the works.
Supposedly the first releases for Cyriss (the book, Battle Group, and some units/individual models) will be at Lock&Load this year with guesses for a wide realease about
a month or two after (so July time frame for general public release).

Just clarifying some things...

All true.
Im pretty sure the Clockwork Angel will likely be a unit of some kind ("one of their more compelling units is the clockwork angel" quoted from the video).
Don't we know that the developers sometimes refer to solos as units, too?
Also these "jacks" do not have a Cortex in the traditional sense so will be interesting to see how they deal/take disruption.
Very good point.
Also already been confirmed that they will be done in a Forces book (so launch similiar to that of Retribution of Scyrah) and a Battle Group Box. I think the Colossal will be the Prime Axiom. Axiom is a mathematical term for "thing you assume to be true in order to have a more complex argument about something later."
I'm curious to see how the Convergence runs a battle engine. So much of what we've heard focuses on the battlegroup. It seems that Convergence 'casters are going to be the quintessential 'jack 'casters, with many spells that boost the battlegroup - certainly the ability to lend their MAT, RAT, and other powers (ie. Arc Node, Shield Wall) to the battlegroup would imply a 'jack heavy list. Pouring so many points into a big model that isn't part of the battlegroup, but doesn't come with the advantages of being part of a unit (ie. boots on the table)... it'll be interesting.
Supposedly the first releases for Cyriss (the book, Battle Group, and some units/individual models) will be at Lock&Load this year with guesses for a wide realease about

True. Good get.

Have a link to this handy website (http://imgur.com/a/MPkLR#25) where some kind soul has arranged for a slideshow of most of the best images from the video.
Man... these minis are beautiful.

Looking at these, it seems that the Convergence's weakness might be speed. Their jacks are Khador slow. This would make sense in an army that requires its models to stick together in order to synergize, but might allow them to be outflanked by the likes of Cryx or even Cygnar.

Also their DEF seems extremely low.

But, I hadn't noticed previously, pretty high ARM scores. ARM 16 warcaster? ARM 16 light jack? ARM 19 heavies? That's... pretty decent.

Yeah they are. I just don't like DEF 10 because it means no boosting to hit, and most buffs are for damage, so ARM 19 isn't as good. I'd rather have DEF 12, which is still easy to hit for most things, but skews the game stronger than higher arm.

Some people are wondering if they will be immune to disruption. I think it's possible.

It'll all depend on the gameplay of the Induction node. Didn't the video allude to the transfer of focus being tied to the node? Would it be safe to assume that it also allows them to be allocated focus? Ah I'm so confused, take my money PP and give me Cyriss!!!

Warmachine and Hordes are really fun games. They aren't the perfectly balanced list-is-nothing-play-is-everything games that some fans like to think they are, but they can be a lot of fun. The models are really characterful, and I think that the Privateer Press creative team does a better job hitting that "fun and over the top, but not too too much" sweet spot than Games Workshop's.

I think that may be the best summing up of WM/H I've ever seen. May have to quote it in the future.
