I need to get away for my own (increasingly scarce) sanity.


I appreciate the times and discussions that we've had on here but that is in the past now. It is time to move on and look to the future.

"Not being attached" isn't quite the same thing as "not loving." I have a five year old daughter. She is the most important thing to me in my life and she idolizes me. Still, every day I leave the house I think to myself, "She won't be here forever. She may not be here when I get home." That is a reality that has come true for me far too many times for me to simply ignore. I love my family, but I am ready at any given moment to let them go. In the end, it's not like I'd have a choice in the matter.

Not universally. My high school (what I believe you Brits call post-16) didn't get their first punkers until the mid 80's. I didn't see a goth until I went off to college, and then not until the early 90's. Of course, that depends on where in the US you grew up. I'm sure the East Coast was pretty much up to date with what was happening in Europe. As for me, put this (61.3695833333333,-149.5353) into google earth (or google maps) to see where I went to HS and I'm sure you'll understand.

That I suppose would depend on whether "Overlord" is a title or a position.
If it were a title then Overlady would make sense, though with bishops the official title is "Lord Bishop" without there being a provision for "Lady Bishop" for female counter parts, similiarly with the "Lord Justice..." titles
If it were a position then I have no problem with it staying as Overlord the same way that a woman may be a chairman

Usually 'Lord XXXXX' would actually be a baron or earl (and possible marquess, I forget). There are actually very few specific Lord titles. So if you take Baron X as being the position Lord is still the title, so it works rather well really.

Heh... I was at one point in my life. My nick is a throw back from a local forum. My original account ended up with a fatal error and could not be deleted, so I had to come up with a new name. My boss [worked at an FLGS] told me I should use "The Girl" because it was the obvious choice for the only chick in the bunch [and that's how I was generally identified by folks]... it stuck. It's just a dumb inside joke.

I've been moderating the front page for about 2 years, but don't worry - I know that forum atmosphere is different. Let me know if you see something out of place and I'll deal with it.

Well, as some of you may have noticed, I have been a little cranky recently.

That's because well, I am currently dealing with a bit of depression. Now this is for many reasons... I'll list a few:

1. Whatever me and Eldargal had ended on New Year, and that's dealt a weird blow that has hit me far worse than I thought it would.
2. I was due to move to a new flat with a couple of friends, they broke up on the New Year too, and without the guy even mentioning it to me despite the fact that he called me a very close friend. This move would have made my life 1 million times better, because as many of you know, I hate my current flatmate with a passion.
3. My stepdad keeps getting recalled into Hospital, after his heart operation about 2 years ago. This is getting increasingly stressful for me and my mum. He's a great guy, and about the only Dad that I have had for 5-6 years. I'm more concerned about my mum however, because she's trying to stay strong, much like me, and it really is noticeable.
4. You guys won't stop bloody arguing, seriously, it's worse than parliament in here. But hey, I don't have to worry about that anymore because I am no longer a moderator. I can shout at you as much as I like.
5. In a wargames forum, I don't expect 70% of posts to be related to the news. Yes, you know who you are. I don't care about who shot who, or what is in what, I want to see people's shiny new miniatures.
6. I'm constantly being screwed over by women at the moment. One even had the cheek, after I invited her to a Sunday out with all of my closest friends, bought her food and drink, and let her stay in my bed whilst I slept on the floor, to then the next day say that I tried to have sex with her in a vulnerable state. I don't remember attempting to rape someone, I was too busy lying on a cold, hard floor. You don't come into my house, take advantage of my hospitality, and then slander my name. (and for note, two of my closest friends were in the next room because Matt's car broke down so him and Chris were in a bit of a squeeze, so I let them over)
(also of note, I have known that girl for like 5 years, and liked her for about that long. She said she cared about me,etc etc.)


So, yeah, I'm probably going to be leaving; I have no more commitments to this website.
I just wanted you all to know my story.

I have to say matey after your departure, and somewhat quick return I could tell that not all was right with you. You have been a grumpy ******* in your posts but I didn't buy the hard arse approach one bit.
Leave the forums if that's what you think is for you, but like I have said before "the forum is just a forum to come and chat" you guys are all great and everything, but it's just a forum. If I didn't ever post or chat on here again, my life would go on. Do what you have to do TDA, but don't place any importance in BOLS posting and forum membership. It means nothing really. Life won't end if you decide never to post anything again. Either way whatever you decide, stay safe mate. You can get me anytime on XBL for a chat and you have my mobile etc.

I have to agree with Denz and Deadlift. Be safe, do what you need to get to a better place, but your blaming forum posters is a bit beyond the pale.

Transference is not a great idea. It tends to torque people off.
