So i was in no hurry to buy two or three basillisks. Add in that i'm tired of playing with chimera hulls. Shopping for brthday presents at Toy's R Us the other day, i stubled across these, for $9.99:

Why buy one when i can buy three. Here's an out-of box pic next to a basillisk for a size comparison:

Luckily they can be disassembled with a screw driver. The vehicle is actually a tank-buster. I want it to have more of an artillery feel, so here we go:

Next stage is figuring out how to scratch-build a medusa cannon or griffon heavy mortar.

That looks brilliant. Just for fun I've been looking for a model kit to make into a deathstrike missile. Now I want to make more artillery after seeing this.

I'm new to scratch-building, so don't laugh to hard at my heavy mortar in progress...

Lowsy picture but you get the gist:

And here's the battery. I'll be adding some guardsmen on the platforms for scale.

Looks like a great choice for an alternate model.

New to converting or not, you did some good work. It looks like the tank was supposed to be made that way.
