Been lurking a lot more than posting. Figure I'd start a thread showcasing my ever-increasing Ork forces (yet I don't have massive amounts; started with this army as a side-project about 7 months ago). Over the past months I painted and uploaded a lot but recently I acquired a lightbox, so I'll restart my gallery that way.

My intended list of stuff in my actual army;

2 Dakkajet's
3 Deffkoptas
2 Battlewagons
1 Looted wagon
1 Trukk
1 Big mek
1 Weirdboy
10+ lootas + some mekboys
an assortment of slugga and shootaboyz (about 70 or so)

So that's what anyone can expect to be uploaded. I'm not looking for critiques on my armybuild, especially not since I'm more of a painter and just a casual gamer that plays a minimal amount.

So far done; 2 Jet's, 3 kopta's, Trukk, Big Mek, Lootas + mekboys + Slugga + Shootaboyz.

Currently missing; 2 battlewagons, looted wagon, weirdboy and a few nobz to lead the boyz. But that's all on my shopping list for the next month.

Besides that; there's a few other things I have around, so those might pop-up along the way.

That is a great looking army. Very cohesive colour scheme, stunning detail. I really love the skin tone you have achieved as well.

Don't suppose you would mind sharing your secrets for it and/or your brown rusted metal?

- Basecoat Caltan Brown... yes, that old one. Should look if the new range has a good substitute.
- Heavy Nuln oil wash
- Highlight Caltan Brown (watered down, building up layers, then drybrush Caltan brown highlights corners to make it blend with the basecoat)
- Light Drybrush Burnished gold (though, I guess Screaming bell is a good substitute)
- A slightly harsher drybrush of Leadbelcher.
- Heavily watered down Caltan brown wash
- Heavily watered down Blazing orange for the rust spots around the rivets.

Alternatively, you can do some rusted metal;
- Leadbelcher basecoat
- Nuln oil was
- Leadbelcher drybrush
- Thinned down Caltan brown wash
- Light drybrush Leadbelcher
- Add thinned down blazing orange for rust spots.

That's how I did the rust... from the top of my head.


The skintone;

- Knarloc green basecoat
- Devlan mud wash (Agrax earthshade is fine as well)
- Pick out raised muscles (like triceps) with some Knarloc Green
- Drybrush with Gretchin Green

I'm still painting with a lot of the old range. Have reserves of most colors for a bit, but slowly I should see if I can find good substitutes.
