Forgeworld have just put a bunch of new bits for their Zone Mortalis indoor 40k battlefield set up for pre-order:

The cities and starships of the Imperium are often ancient and crumbing edifices, constructed in ages past from prefabricated STC designs from the Dark Age of Technology. In a galaxy beset by war any building or corridor may be pressed into service as a strongpoint. Abrupt corners and shadowed alcoves typify the interior workspaces, while the narrow corridors and indeed larger internal rooms can be sealed off by great plasteel blast doors.

The tile measures 1' x 1' (300mm x 300mm) and is fully compatible with the other tiles in the Zone Mortalis range. These tiles use hollow resin, which allows us to produce highly detailed, light and very durable scenery pieces. Due to the casting process of this material, it is sometimes possible to find small air bubbles on these terrain pieces. These are easy to fill as our Working with Resin guide explains.

Model designed by Blake Spence. Available to pre-order now for despatch from the 25th of January.

Also they have updated the existing Zone Mortalis rules to 6th edition and have put them up online as a free supplement for download, which can be found here:

And according to their Facebook page, this is just the first of a wide selection of 6th edition rules downloads they have in the pipeline. Very interesting!

These blow my mind. I expect that we will see many awesome conversions using these tanks!

Yeah I mean I'm looking at those tanks and thinking of GW's Water Effect stuff and my mind immediately conjures up a picture of a Titan Princeps in their sensory tank like those detailed in the novels Helsreach and Titanicus.

I was doing some browsing on the forum here and took a look at olberon's Zone Mortalis project thread down in the Terrain Projects section. Following a link that SlickWilly posted took me to Heresy-Online (http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=45559) and a pic there that Graf Spee had posted which caught my eye. Notice anything familiar in it:

He also posted a link to a website (http://spacehulk.beckerf.de/html/3d-pimp_my_hulk.html) where that picture had come from and on that page I noticed this picture:

With 2 more familiar looking terrain features in it.

Bear in mind that Graf Spee's post on that page is dated 09-11-09 and one would presume the page it links too had been up for some time for him to know to link to it, then while these might be new from Forge World they certainly are not new sculpts and those pics do show what might be the next releases for the line.

I thought they were essentially resculpts from the Anphelion project stuff?

I shall use my google-fu to see what I can dig up

This vid is from february 2010, and shows the slot in panels that FW produced to go with their Anphelion Base kits. You can see the command/comms console panel at around the 2:25 mark and tha containment tubes at 3:10. Note these were never produced in a clear plastic/resin, but do seem to have a near identical design to the 'new' zone mortallis kits, and are deffinitely the ones Brakkart has shown above. The scribe station can be seen at 4:29 as well.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we see new versions of the other panels released as well. How much fun would it be to be able to climb over a zone mortalis wall without have to expose your troops to fire? or alternatively have a quick access ladder to like your underground ZM game with a sewer style hatch on the regular 40k board? (Something FW has hinted at in the past)

I am a bit peeved that FW are trying to pass this stuff off as new. Remastered for ZM, sure, but when it is so similar to the product they sold before? Looking at that vid as well, I am quite surprised FW havent rereleased the Anphelion kits completely. They would make some awesome looking bastions, a great alternative landing pad and almost looks like it would connect up reasonably well with ZM. Not to mention looking sweet as on their new RoBB sections.

The Anphelion kit is too expensive to produce without converting it to the new hollow cast resin thingamie and they were quite open about trying to repurpose some parts of it last year on their Facebook page.
