Special edition videogames sometimes come with cool figures. I've still got my Big Daddy from Bioshock, Ezio and Altair from Assassins Creed.

Then you get the silly things...like the £500 leather jacket that came with RE6. Or the full size care package with CoDBlOps2. Or the remote controlled UAV that came with the previous CoD

Dead Island 2 has raised it to a whole new level of OMFGWTF

The skyrim dragon does look quite good in real life. Personally I liked special editions when they were a about a tenner more and you stuff like some better armour available to find, a posher more limited map and a art poster. While some of the things they include look awesome, you're soon going to run out of space if you pick up 3 or 4 a year...

I don't see the point in special editions generally, they certainly do nothing for me, lots of expensive clutter to fill the place. There are too many editions these days, sometimes as many as four, normal edition, limited edition, special edition, maybe an edition specific to that retailer. Particularly irritating when I place a preorder with my local store, a Game branch, and they often don't have any info on what the different versions are, and they are never told how much each one will cost until launch day.

I like special/collectors editions when they have things like in-game journals and art books (print kinds not pdfs). In-game cosmetic items and weapons don't hurt either. It is getting ridiculous though with Normal, Digital, Digital Deluxe, Collectors Edition, Special Edition and sometimes Ultimate editions.

People will buy it just because they know a lot of people thought it was horrible, some will buy it because they are immature and just see bewbies, others will buy it because they are genuinely creepy.:rolleyes: By actually recalling that it would mean the publisher is actually sending the message that it is disgusting and that they don't want to profit from it.
