DoW did well and Space Marine looks promising. But lets not forget Fire warrior
So what would make a good game without the emperors finest hogging the lime light. Maybe a Karandras sneak-em-up in the shadows? A full on Inquistion RPG with a route to puritan or radical? IG Tank sim, or even a trynaid hack n slash on the wii!
Thoughts?
Or maybe GW of the future will abadon plastic and metal and have fully digital armies that load up on portable memory cards?? :D

An Inquisitor RPG in the style of KOTOR or Neverwinter Nights would kick some serious ***.

Third Person Shooter Imperial Guard game where you get to command your own squad. Or something with good multiplayer and not just co-op.

An inquisiton rpg could be loads of fun. Has anyone played squad commander for the DS? Been thinking of getting it but have no idea how good it is.

I found it for 14 bucks. It's not a very long game, but it's pretty fun once you get into it. I wouldn't pay much more for it than that.
Really reminds me of Chaos Gate.

What about a FPS where you are Sly Marbo, the one-man army?

well rule these out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Warhammer_40,000_video_games
well an FPS while playing as a stormtrooper could be very Killzone2/CoD4-esque.
oh i know! call it Kreig Quartermaster, where you go around after a battle and collect the equipment off dead and dying comrades, this could make a great point and click game for the DS, just ignore the moans of dying comrades... :p
actually a 3rd person action game re-creating the siege of hydra cordatus from Storm of Iron would be too awesome to pass up. on that note...
TITANS!!!!! plays like mechwarrior but where you can command other titans (volcano cannons, plasma destructors, and mega-bolters, oh MY!). >:-)

A space combat sim based on Battle Fleet Gothic would be a winner in my book, probably at fleet level as opposed to on the bridge action.

I think a game based around Necromunda would be fun.
Assassins. Something along the lines of Assassins Creed, except, you know, better. Something along the lines of the thief series for sneaking mixed with lots of wanton violence when its called for. Give people the option of whether they follow a violent path or a stealth path.
I second the ideas of BFG game and titan game. Titan in particular could be fun, especially if you get to run infantry support missions. Imagine stepping on an ork horde while you battle with a gargant.

Dark Heresy / Rogue Trader / etc roleplaying game.
A Homeworld 2 styled Battlefleet Gothic game.
Aeronautica Imperialis as a fighter-sim game.
Epic Armageddon in a Total War style setting.

A 3rd person Action game that lets me be a Solitaire... perhaps in light of the Ninja Gaiden series.

a first person necron game where you just go around slaughtering pesky humans, complete with Death-robot music soundtrack - would be very relaxing for those angry days.

A remake of the old Space Hulk game would be sweet.

Id settle for a game you dont need a Cray-2 to run!
Dark Heresy / Rogue Trader / etc roleplaying game.
A Homeworld 2 styled Battlefleet Gothic game.
Aeronautica Imperialis as a fighter-sim game.
Epic Armageddon in a Total War style setting.
I think the Universe might come crashing to a close... I agree 100% with your post! lol. :) These ideas are spot on. I would love a total war Epic Armageddon game.... Hell, I would love any of those games!
It almost makes me sad that they probably won't be doing anything like this for a long time.

PS- I have it on good information that there is a 40k MMORPG that is in process (But a long way off)

An epic game set in the war in heaven would make me happy, just imagining all those planets of psykers I could enslave...mmmmm tasty. would never happen though.

i definitely would love to see a necromunda game where you have to build your gang up and go out and kick some *** (a bit like that Warriors game that was out not to long ago). For the sheer spectacle though, it would have to be something set during the Heresy. Istvaan III or the Siege of the Emperor's Palace, or maybe a game spanning the whole of the Heresy. I wouldn't be too bothered what format it would take. I'd still buy it.

Kreigamari Damacy?
TITANS!!!!! plays like mechwarrior but where you can command other titans (volcano cannons, plasma destructors, and mega-bolters, oh MY!). >:-)
That would be sweet. Making it a quasi-naval sim like Abnett described in Titanicus would rock.

So many good good ideas. Read these pages GW and make notes!!
They should also do super speed freak kart for the DS. The orks will bring their own mushrooms though...:p
I think it would be good to see something thats not covered by the table tops, or would be too expensive to do. So stuff like the HH would be prime, as would BFG. Totally agree.
I second the Necromunda and Assassin games too. I'd play them even if they were bad! But they should do the Inquisitor RPG. There is so much material out there and great points of reference, it would almost write and make itself. Bit of mass effect and KOTOR, and a gritty story-line with multiple paths, have cameos from famous inquisitors too. Just do it GW!!

I'd love to see a DoW-Style game in set during the Horus Heresy with a little bigger focus on Heroes (Hello Primarchs!)
I think Space Marine is going to be cool, but I'd love to see them do a 3rd-Person Gears of War style game where cover was really important.
your right, I think Space Marine is going to be fun, but I want it to be more like Gears than Halo. i.e. cover matters, you can be res'd by a buddy, etc. With the added increase in cover on the tabletop I imagine cover will play a role in Space Marine.

From the vids I've seen, it'll be closer to a combination of Dawn of War 2 and various action games (Dynasty Warriors comes to mind) than either gears or halo. Course those vids could be outdated, they've changed the project several times already.
PS- I have it on good information that there is a 40k MMORPG that is in process (But a long way off)It's not exactly a secret. They publicly announced it like a year or two ago, but it's gonna be like 2011 or 2012 before it's released probably.
From wikipedia:
Warhammer 40,000 Online (working title) is an upcoming science fiction massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 setting. It is currently under development by Vigil Games. Originally announced in March 2007, with a planned release date in 2012.

I didn't search and posted this as a thread lol
But what about an Inquisitor game using the fallout 3 engine?
Or something based on gorkamorka or necromunda?
I don't know about anybody else but i'm bored with playing essentially the same game with new units every year...
but now i've thought more I want Star wars supremacy (think it was badged star wars rebellion in the us) crossed with rome total war. Thats the game DOW should have been.
Or possbly an inquisitor game based on the rpg, like baldurs gate/neverwinter nights is to D&D
