Started back up a Death Guard force once the new codex hit. I had an older one I took my first GT and wanted to give them a try again.

looking great, im not that keen on the HQs, but thats my idea of what i see as nurgle getting in the way not the models :)
the death guard and raptors look ACE! the colours are nice too. do you plan on adding some filth drips/runs to the armour? i think that would make them look even better, just an orange/rusty wash in places to have pools of ming spilling out of cracks and stuff..... but not OTT.

Nice work, but not sold on the faceless hellbrute... just looks wierd not to have that focal point.

Thanks fellas!
I do plan on working some more on the Nurgle Marines, a few tweaks here and there to add before they're completed. Some rust is in order.
I am still looking for the right head piece for the Hellbrute, nothing so far has worked that good. I agree it needs something better there. I'm just not keen on the stock head.

:) cool stuff there, that old sorcerer looks wicked painted!
i like the use of the sand as manky nurgle manky stuff, i have a small suggestion regarding that and its a one FW use a great deal.
brita filters (can be used or fresh), just crack one open and leave in a warm place for a day or so to dry out a little. all of the little carbon and other pellets are perfect for patches of infestation and stuff and as FW do, rivets!!!!! its fiddly but thats how FW gets their tiny rivets on stuff :)

Hi,
Would you be willing to make a tutorial for how you achieved this look? I'm starting a Death Guard army and would love to ape your awesome style!

Thanks Nergal!
For the Marines it's fairly easy. I prime white, paint the trim with some bronze and the shoulder pads green, then wash with some Agrax Earthshade or Secret Weapon Minis Sewer Water, sometime a combo of both. Then I pick out details, add some dusting (Secret Weapon powders mostly) and work on the weapons with the usual boltgun / black wash combo.

Really nice stuff here. I love seeing attention to detail, and it is here in spades. The big conversations especially show off all the grossness that is Nurgle. Keep up the dirty fight!

Thanks fellas, appreciate the kind words!
Chanderzz - The skin is pretty easy to do... prime white, a thin Elysiun Green base, a few Agrax Earthshade washes, each one a little more diluted than the last, then some highlights (I think I used some lighter greens like Nurgling or Straken Green). Then once done a very light wash of some Agrax again and some Secret Mini Sewer Water in the dark recesses as well.
Got the Obliterators about done.

I'm failing miserably to get my stuff looking this filthy :(
I did a chosen as a test and while I'm happy with the quality of my painting I just cant get them looking as grotty.

You may try building up layers with your washes to get a nasty, diseased look. Secret Weapon's Sewer Water wash is really good for Nurgle stuff, I love the results. I also find that priming white actually helps make a mini look nastier once you apply some washes. It pops a little more and you can see the effects a little better.
Got some Plague Zombies done. A LOT more to go though!

Been a while, but work continues on the Death Guard! I'm excitingly anticipating a Nurgle Daemonkin book in the future, so I want to get as much ready as possible to be ready for one. With GW's crazy release schedule, it could be here quick!
