Necron Pylon WIP

Hello Bols Fans,

Here is my beloved entry into the market giveaway. The other reason I'm making them is for an upcoming Apocalypse game that will start with the upcoming year. I wanted to play it on the actual Apocalypse this weekend for the perfect Xzibit joke, but no one's schedule would accommodate. I'm making a Necron Pylon. Well, not one, but four. Yes, count them, FOUR Necron pylons. Why? Because I go big or I go home. I then noticed that the Forgeworld model, as of today's currency exchange rate, is $151.16. Not to mention that I'm a cheap git.
So, I bought several old school globes for $5 each at Goodwill stores. It did take time to find them all.3417

I also stockpiled some bits that I thought would work perfectly with this. Mainly they are the monolith 'spines' and some drop-pod bits that I received. I traded them for a cake. And that's no lie.

Then I grabbed the first thing I could that seemed like it could get the job done and went to down on those bad boys. Yes, the other pylon is off camera.3418

Then, I wanted to see what it felt like to be a baby boomer so to simulate that, I decided to literally trash the world.

I now feel the urge to smoke Ronald Reagan and vote for crack. Wait a second....

I'm taking a break for the moment to make a Christmas gift for my parents. Should be done by Saturday and then I can pick this up again. I'm working on a stencil based on the Apocalypse rulebook spread.

Also, I took measurements of the bases involved. They're pretty big. But I think I can make one a square base by using foamcore and an un-made monolith.
