I think I have participated in more sporting events than the rest of my life so far combined. I'm exhausted! Still for a good number of other reasons, it will be a year to forget for me... Guess I'll just have to try to remember the good things :)

Just another year in the trenches really, it's had its ups and its quite frankly had some serious downs.

The lowest point was coming to the realisation that my 2 and a half year old son is showing more and more autistic traits. He is being referred to a specialised unit for observation. I love him and despite his "oddness" I know he loves me too. Although he has some autistic traits he is very affectionate towards me which is fantastic.

No real standout high points, but having a supporting loving wife who lets me get away with murder. 2 fantastic children who are constantly making me feel so proud sometimes I feel like bursting, food on the table, time in the gym, beer in the fridge and wine in the rack. LIFE IS GOOD.

In terms of how the years been for me, it's had it's highs and lows, but I haven't killed anyone so it's probably a success...

I hate the 'end of year' reflections, it's why the only time of the year I get blind drunk is New Year's Eve. It seems to be the one time of the year that I do mind being single and I feel like I haven't accomplished anything of note. I suppose educating kids should be classed as something worthy, but when it's your day job it never feels like it.

Well to end the year on a high note for myself and the family, We have a new hairy addition to the family snuggled up on the sofa next to me. Got back from my holiday and picked up Buddy, a 4 year old bull terrier in need of a new home.

As for my year? Ever onwards and upwards. Started the year fairly well. Became a senior member of my department. Wound sole senior member of my department. On account of being ace at my job, and hard working, lost the respect of some colleagues, but none of any note. Realising I was under valued, underpaid and overworked, landed a new job, for significantly enhanced remuneration. Just had new career path laid out, and finally feel I've made it.
