Here is the traditional Forge World Christmas Jigsaw part 1.
I don't know exactly what it is, but I know I want it.
Terminator variant maybe or a special character in terminator armour?

Beat me too it. Where it not for the very boring base, i'd have assumed we'd get the next Primarch.
Another marine release.....yippee.

It's a techmarine or iron-hand

I bet for the Justaerin terminator squad from the Sons of Horus 1st company
another Horus heresy release....

The style of the leg/knee/ankle makes me think it's ornate Tartaros Termie armour. Perhaps a special character or character pack? Are Justaerin in Cataphract or normal Termie armour?

Good spot on the leg. It is pretty close.

I knew it was a terminator leg but who's?

The tabard is similar to the techmarine style, hence I stand by my earlier statement...but obviously a terminator version :D

Justaerin models were shown at GDUK. and are wearing Cataphractii armour.
besides forge world always use a model/s that haven't been shown yet. so I'd imagine it will be another Consul Character in modified Tartaros terminator armour (like the master of signals and legion champion).
then again there is a 4th pattern of termintor armour mentioned in betrayal (Saturnine) but that is a serious long shot.
then again FW did mention making a 'Legion Tartaros pattern terminator squad' as the present set has the Crux Terminatus on the shoulder pads (which didn't exist till after the heresy finished)

The loin plate is pretty close to the 2011 FW Boarding Marine in Mk 3 artificier. Maybe Saturnine term armor or a boarding action set.

Definitely not a Primarch. No scenic base!
Well. Not that they're showing, so 'definitely' might be a bit strong!

Im putting my money on either Deathshroud or Justaerin.

I'm pretty sure it's a Thallax, the incomplete torso was shown at GDUK. They are a Mecanicum unit in the HH:Betrayal book. All the Justaerin and Deathshroud are in Cataphractii armor.

im hoping its a tasty tartaros set (obviously its a tartaros set but.........)
it does not have to be a HH set though, it may just be a variant on tartaros.
there are no primarchs in the betrayal book using tartaros or any termy plate other than the warmaster anyway, and it has been said he was to be the last one made, and mortarion is next in line i do believe

Id say Death Shroud.

Its NOT Death Shroud, I've seen the wip on those, they are in cataphractii styled armor with different torsos.

I guess I'll never get a Forgeworld Grey Knights Grandmaster model, or a special character thats worth a damn from imperial armor :(, Like really the best you can do is Solomon Lok and Hector Rex????

Deffo looks like a Tartaros variant with a tech marine aesthetic. Any characters from Betrayal that fit the bill? Or could they be Iron Hand Morlocks? Would that tie in with the next HH book covering the Dropsite Massacre?

If it is, my wallet will explode.
But I reckon it isn't.

as much as i'd love it to be an iron warriors variant, i know it is not. perturabo is clearly described in 'fancy' termie suit and the ring of iron are robots, the termies (i cant remember their names now LOL) are written in cataphractii suits.
seige tartaros would be nice........ or a dedicated assault tartaros set would be sweeeeeet my BA wiould be as happy as my wallet would be empty.

Do you know what would have been really nice? To see something that wasn't a part of a Space Marine :-)
A nice piece of universal terrain or a structure would have been great.

Mortarian was the next Primarch due.
But this definently isn't him. No scenic base

We were told Fulgrim at the FW seminar at Gamesday. My guess is that it's Deathshroud.

Deathshroud - I'm SO on this!
StarWarsDoug
12-13-2012, 11:10 AM
I'm not saying it's not the Deathshroud Termie, but the WIP I saw in October had much different legs (similar to the cataphractii legs, but without the riveted bands), the tabard was like the cataphractii, much more bulk to the chest and the crossed Scythes symbol of Mortarion was prominent on the chest, and the scythe was held 2 handed. And they were huge, the feet just about touching both sides of the base.
I want to believe, but what I've seen prior doesnt look anything the same. However, I have been told definitively that Deathshroud will be available in Jan. So even if this is not, get your wallets ready.
Mr Mystery

I love them... with some caveats. First, I prefered the original Mortarion honour guard artwork from the Visions of Heresy artbook, the one where they are in Cataphract armour. Also, the uselessly long armoured "loincloth" looks very silly, first it doesn't protect anything and second it must be getting in the way of thei legs all the time.

I like these very very much, with very little effort these could be converted to fit many different armies too. If this is a sign of things to come out of FW in the future a far as HH models are concerned, I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us.

Agreed. I'm personally trying to figure out the best way to convert the Cataphracts I think my wife got me for Xmas into Space Wolf ones. Lots of fur, me thinks. I'd love some FW models, but I know they're at least a year or more out.

Those painted Deathshrouds have Grenades. Other than the only Codex I know that allows Termies to have grenades - Grey Knights. Yes GK Termies are expensive, elite troops, but they are still over powered and get various grenades.
Now this is for 30K, and since I am still waiting on spare $$$ to purchase the first 30K book, I am unsure whether Termies in 30K get grenades. In general, do they, or is it only certain Legions, or marks of terminator Armour?

Picked up my HH book and it fell open at the Deathshroud rules page - it's a sign!
They can take melta-bombs, yes.
I really like the look of these guys and they may just have partly rekindled my desire to build some power armour as terminators are awesome.
