Are people using them? They count as troops? They still can´t hold or deny an objective, so i suppose, if you get couple of DA´s and two PF´s as troops, you can use the 2 slots for these. Then get the normal Heavy slots in regular use. BS 4 is nice, but no outflanking, but Deep Strike, hmm...what is your opinion on these?

There best thing was that they didn't take up a Heavy slot like War Walkers. Seeing as Heavy is the biggest demand in an Eldar army.

Yep, Dark Reapers + 2 x 3 War Walkers is my basic list. In addition to this, 2 x 3 Wasp War Walkers would be great! :)

I disagree

The best thing about these guys is BS4.

It means that you don't need to add ~100 points to their cost with a farseer.

This is also true

Just to clarify, they are only Troops with BS 4 for an Eldar Corsair army.

For Codex: Eldar, they are a Fast Attack choice, 15pts less, and BS 3.

I recently used them with my regular Eldar and the Jet Pack rule was really nice for popping out of cover -> shooting -> popping back behind cover. And of course that they didn't take up a Heavy slot.
I would love to field 3 War Walkers and 3 Wasp Walkers with Eldrad to Guide (or prescience) them both as I use Walkers as my Anti-Aircraft.

How allowable would it be though to take 'Eldar Corsairs' as allies to normal 'Eldar'. They're not in the big table of allied-ness in the 6th Ed rulebook, but the scenario/storyline of IA11 would seem to imply that corsairs and craftworlds can ally. Bit beardy maybe...

Not any beardier than allying Space Wolves and codex marines, or whatever.

I think they are listed in the big table of allied-ness though in the rulebook? Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Space Wolves all get their own separate mention as well as 'Space Marines'?

Yes, but... the big Allies chart is in the GW corebook, and only includes GW factions. As far as the GW core is concerned, there's no such thing as Eldar Corsairs, so of course, it doesn't mention them.

Good point - I guess my point was just that you might find yourself arguing with an opponent whether it's allowable or not because it's left as a grey area. However, assuming one were to win said argument, this is clearly the way to get those BS4 wasps in as a troop choice.

Also, it's not beardy. You get those BS4 wasps, but you have to pay for an additional HQ to do it! In smaller games, that can be prohibitively expensive. And then you've got to find somewhere to hide that HQ where it can do some good. You're in luck here, because your - probably infantry - Eldar Corsair HQ you brought along for the War Walkers can probably join an Eldar infantry unit. If you're doing an Alliance that's not Battle Brothers, though, it gets a lot messier.

Anyway, it's intentional. This is why armies with powerful Troops choices are popular Allies. Death Company? Enormous IG infantry platoons? Deathwing? Yes, please!

I intended to mention - stupid headache - that you should check the Forgeworld site. I'm pretty sure they have a comprehensive Allies chart that includes all Forgeworld army lists and sub-factions.

There is a Forge World Allies 6th edition update on their downloads page.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/News/Downloads.html

Eldar Corsairs Armies
When using the Allies Matrix (page 113, Warhammer 40,000 rulebook), Eldar Corsair armies are treated as Eldar armies when both selecting allies to fight alongside them and when using them as allies for another force. The exception to this rule is that they may ally with Eldar armies as Battle Brothers.
