Hi guys,

I just have a question regarding the rule about attacking the building on page 93 of the rulebook. If a space marine fires a krak missile(AP3) to bastion, and a glancing hit is scored. A unit inside, let say chaos space marines, suffer a wound. What is the AP of this wound? Is it AP3? Or armor save can be taken to any wound they suffer?

It is a rare instance of a wound with no AP value, meaning armor saves can be taken as normal.

Today i was occupying a building with Eldar Dire Avengers and it was assaulted by Death Company...end result was, that the dudes inside got like 30-ish wounds and even with fortune they pretty much all failed...itīs good to have cover, but get the f out, if you see someone coming right for it! :)

Yeah, buildings are just a ridiculous death trap, especially as they can explode. Why on earth falling bits of masonry are S6 but being inside an exploding tank is S4 is beyond me.

Buildings weigh a lot more than a tank. A lot more. And vehicle explosions are realistically much less impressive than most people think. Hollywood had convinced everyone that cars are packed with C4 just waiting to clip a tree or get hit with a bullet and explode in a massive ball of fire.

You know what makes a car really blow up good? Driving over a cliff!

That is a difficult one.

Tanks that blow up either from a n IED or an anti-tank missile tend to enhance the damage done to the occupants inside. Partly because of all the ammunition inside them, partly because of the force needed to puncture them is usually greater, and once the shot and its resulting shock wave have gone off inside the confined space of the tank, it makes everything inside wish it were dead if it did survive some how. Popped ear drums, burns, shrapnel flying around and bouncing off the internal walls of the armoured vehicle or tank. If the shot destroys the vehicle tank then the lighter vehicles seem to create less shock damage to the occupants than the heavier ones, but then the occupants in lighter vehicles are more susceptible to small arms fire from outside.

I have no real experience with how a falling building would effect a the people inside, but from what I have seen on TV and all those earthquake documentaries that they do, the walls would fall down creating small spaces/ pockets that you could survive in, while other areas you would be smashed by the concrete wall or roof sections that weigh tonnes, and then you would most likely be pinned there for days until you were rescued. Even power armour would provide limited protection from that.

Both cases are bad ju-ju to the occupants. That is why we tend to use the bunkers we have on the gaming tables as ruins. I could not guess which was worse because I have not personally gone through either situation, nor do I have any close friends from my military service who have survived anything like that or have discussed it with me. But there is enough documented evidence to show its effects on the occupants in either case.
