So gamesworkshop and sega, would never expect that combo. So warhammer:total war? and 40k total war? be much better than the mark of chaos which i enjoyed but felt missed something.

Could be interesting...Empire worked quite well balencing Shooting and Assaulting units.
Would like to see them pushing the ship combat and having some space battles....just wishful thinking
Does this mean THQ have lost the 40k license?

Seems only Fantasy at the moment.

I think it would be better game mechanics than the real-time dawn of war...

woohoo, warhammer total war would be amazeballs. I spent so many hours playing rome total war at uni. purely for research for my ancient history degree...

Yeah this is for the Warhammer lisence, THQ still have 40K, so this should go in the other forum I think!

I think if they went with 40k and the total war engine then you would be looking more at Epic than current 40K. Either way it would be awesomes, they just have to wrestle the 40k license off THQ

I think we will find that this is their trial run and if they like it they may give them the lisence for 40k and leave THQ with the shooters lisence though

given the major financial troubles THQ seems to be having they may have sold/be selling/moving on the license

I assume that the license THQ has isn't necessarily exclusive. It certainly would be folly by GW if that is the case. In fact, the license for Fantasy and 40k respectively might be worth more than the rest of the company.

But if THQ goes tits up the licence will become available again...

The license THQ has is Exclusively 40k. They (sadly) are the sole publisher and creator of any 40k video game until sometime in the distant future. (Multi-year extension started back in 2011)
But only Warhammer 40k. The rights to any Fantasy games was held by Namco-Bandai up until Mark of Chaos and its expansion was released back in 2008.
