So I've been poking around most of the weekend, and I've been unable to confirm this 100% either way. Thus, I'm asking all of you. :)

I am normally a CSM player, but I've been looking at the various SM Chapters to see if I want to mess around with playing the "good guys". In some of the older Codices (Black Templars and Daemonhunters) I notice that the Power of the Machine Spirit specifically states that it fires with a BS of 2. I have been unable to find this rule in the most recent SM codex or in the newest Space Wolves codex.

So I was wondering if this was an intentional change in 5E and PotMS now fires with the BS of the Land Raider?

Thanks in advance!

Yes (technically not a 5E change so much as a new codex change, but intentional either way), and yes. PotMS is now more like a special rule about what the Land Raider can shoot and less like a separate entity taking over one of the Land Raider's guns. In fact, if you upgrade the BS of the Land Raider (e.g., by putting Sergeant Chronus in it), his upgrade affects PotMS as well.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the clarification.

Bummer as a CSM player. SM LRs are very nasty with a PotMS firing at BS 4+.

The only LR's that don't follow the new PotMS rules are Witchhunter Inquisitorial Dedicated Transport Land Raiders. Everything else has been upgraded/FAQ'd.

The Dark and Blood Angels still have the old PotMS.
