Those are pricelessly comical man...But then again all squat models are! Nice work, And i have to ask do they count as space marines? (Because Tyranids ate all the lil buggers...)

I'm actually going back and playing first edition with them, the ones with SM shoulder pads are my version of exo armour. According to the old white dwarf rules squats could use bolt guns for 3.5 pts per squad. Also I dont buy into the nids eating them lore. Squats were some of the very first figures that I painted when I was 9 years old LOL. I guess I could work on using them as a guard army in 6th edition. I have plans to do some tanks and other stuff. Guess I kind of miss some of the creativity of 1st edition, even though the rules were a mess.

If you ever feel the urge and can get hold of the original Space Crusade Chaos Dreadnought you cna always attempt a Squat War Walker Like I did way back when:

Recently played against some Squats in a Throne of Skulls tournament, (http://40kaddict.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/throne-of-skulls-oct-12-battlec-4.html) they were fun too:

keep 'em coming.

When I went to a local grand tourney in my area, there was a player who did a counts as salamanders army, where they were squats. His drop pods looked like pods with big as hell drills on the top. It was pretty epic I have to say.

only thing I would change personally would be to leave the axe head where it was, but turn the haft upside down, then the material grip would be at the bottom and look more like shock absorbers

Great job. I disagree with Kristen. The axes look great as they are. You've done a bang up job shortenning those bikes. How did you go about it?

I didnt actually shorten them they are standard scout bikes. I used the scout leggs and cut them off at the top of the boot. Also used scout arm for the arm holding the handle bar, I melted the plastic with a candle to make the blob that became the shoulder. The hard part about this was getting the dwarfs cut off in the middle, since they are 2 pieces and most of them dont have 2 arm sockets which takes alot of clipping, cutting, and rebearding(is that a word?).

I love your work on these Squats. I especially like the fuel tanks on the bikes. My only suggestion would be to integrate the axes in to the forks; building the axehead in to the axel and the haft into the suspension.

The Squats will rise again! Nee hi! Nee hi! Nee hi!

Amazing, Frost. Really. I would love to face an army like this on the tabletop. For those of us not in the know, what kind of toys/stats do First Ed. Squats have? I'm interested in other conversion possibilities for an army like this.

There are quite a few rules from the rogue trader days. I dont want to post them here and get BOLS upset. Just do a google search for 40K Compendium. You can find it for sale on ebay, or use the latter route if you know where to look. It is long out o print.

I know that these are not conversions but I snagged a few old school squats off ebay for my army, talk about sitting in closet for 30 years the blister packs were all yellowed and brittle. I'll give these guys some new life.

My meaning was more what they're comparable to? I'm assuming they're like guardsmen in power armor.

Really awesome new photos!

Awesome job! I've been buying squats off ebay too to use as an IG army and I've been considering making some conversions to fill a couple of things out.
