mounted sisters

hi guys first thread for me :) for about a year now ive been thinking of sisters of battle on horse back, sounds a bit random, but my sisters are more influenced in their style by medieval ideas than sci-fi stuff, as in my fluff theyre based on a feudal world bringing the light to the unenlightened, and was wondering how i should go about it? i was thinking converting some brettonian steeds for it, but not sure if rough riders would be better?
suggestions would be helpful!

Mounted Sisters....sounds so...inappropriate. Anyways, my biggest question would be: "What are you going to use for their legs?" If you've found a sound solution to that, I'd say neither. Now follow me here. Privateer Press makes some SWEET cats that would look absolutely pimp with SoBs riding them. They're from the Skorne line, but I can't get the link to work right now. I'll post it later if I can.

inappropriate? i thought marines on giant wolves were inappropriate myself, but this is 40k. for the legs, chop-shop and green stuff, and my sisters are more medieval, so no to cats(and i detest PP sculpts, personal preference),and dont really fit the theme of my army. i thought brettonian cos they use fleur de lys a lot, and the Lady iconography is transposable, or RR cos their horses are 40k-ish. i really took to heart the idea of technologyregressing, hell, my sisters arent even completely armoured! i looked at forge worlds krieg riders, but dont have the cash for that. figured id use some of the seraphim models, think empire pistoleers, but 40k and youll get the feelin im after

Oh no no no, you misunderstood what I meant was innappropriate. Here's what I jokingly said sounded innapropriate:

"Mounted Sisters"

Simply that phrase.:) I really like the idea of creating some mounted units of sisters, though. Its too bad that you dont' like the PP models, because these horses would look SWEET mounted in 40k:

With that being said, I think the bretonnian horses could work very well. I think they're a LITTLE underarmoured for being in the 40k verse, but you could toughen them up with some easy GSing or bits addition and make them look nice and proper.

Didn't Anja Wettergren in the GW studio make some SoB Rough Riders for her army?

I'm sure I saw a photo of one in WD. As I recall, they were on the Lizardmen Cold Ones and I seem to recall mention that they used Wood Elf rider legs, heavily converted.

My google-fu is weak; I can't find an image on the web anywhere.

I don't remember the WD issue number off the top of my head, I might have a look through my WD pile at home tonight.

dang, thats a swish conversion, i was thinkin of using the Repanse De Lyonesse legs and horse for the veteren supereior, then see if i got enough cash to do the same for the rest of the squad. thisll be my first major conversion, only done individual models before. pickin up the models this weekend i hope!

yeah my first thought was FW Kreig riders. you could GS the bionics and add some bitz.

and firefly is awesome...
