One of the entirely mundane perks of being a teacher is that every once in a while I get to cover a colleague's absence. Ever since I started collecting minis, this stopped being a hardship and started being a good thing.

Looking at the top of my Amazon wishlist and considering the size of my windfall (~$40), there are a few options. Which of the following do you think I should buy?

• 1 Box of Assault Terminators
• Vindicator Tank
• 2 Land Speeders

ATM, I'm a little more excited about the vindicator, but that's only because the assault terminators and land speeders are replacements for stolen models, while the vindicator is something entirely new. I think that the assault terminators are the best choice, because my land raider is a little lonely with no one to ride in it, but I'm a little sick of painting and modeling terminators.

Seriously. I own fifteen of the freaking things - all tactical terminators of various loadouts - not to mention two terminator librarians and a Grey Knights terminator someone gave me (display piece, not for play) and I accidentally eBayed another hammernator who I'm going to turn into a terminator captain.

So, I dunno... talk me up buying even more freaking terminators, or tell me how much I'm going to enjoy a vindicator or replacing my land speeders, or suggest something else.

I'm easy.

Lots of termies are fun! I think I own something like 40-50 of the guys.

But I'd say at this stage in your rebuilding jsut get a few things you want, which sounds like the vindicator. Big cannon and it's a mean looking tank and has lots of interesting bits to paint, so is good from that angle.

First World Problems!

I say go with the Vindicator, its a beauty of a model being one of the newest rhino based sculpts, and you can really have fun painting it. Plus in 6th Vindicators are proving to be very useful from most accounts.

Cheers!

First World Problems!

I know!

Oh my God, you guys, it's awful. I have extra money and I just don't know what to do with it. What practically useless plastic toy should I buy? I'm so stressed out!

Stick is right.

Vindicators add that little bit of "oh crap" to the tabletop. More importantly you are are excited about the model. If you're excited, you'll paint it.

Wait a minute you get paid extra for covering another teacher's lessons!? Our unions had to fight to protect our free periods because otherwise we got used for cover all the time with out any recompense. I think I need to move continents.

Oh my freaking God. That would suck.

Yeah, we get paid extra for covering other teachers. Mind you, when you're exhausted, the kids are butts, and you're coming down with the same cold that took out Mr. So-and-so, the "strong request" that you "please" cover a class on your prep can be a pain... but it's always technically a request, and we always get paid.

Also, you want to spend a year out here? If you teach science, it could happen. I've been thinking it would be fun to get a grant for a teacher exchange program. They exist...

You know, I kinda would like to spend a year out there but considering you don't let Religious Education anywhere near your schools, I'd be struggling. I could do History, but I'm guessing your history has a distinctly American flavour which would limit me as well. Do you they do any Philosophy classes at school level?

I wish we taught comparative religion and philosophy. That would be a lot of fun. History could work, if you taught at a level that does World History.

Landspeeders, More bang for your buck and they are harder to screw over then a vindicator. (Plus they have dem there missiles)

It is loads of fun and there is so much you can do with it (at least when the kids are willing to engage with the subject).

Sadly history is not my specialist subject so I only teach at a younger level which is very British history focused (certainly in my school at any rate).

In related news, I finished assembling the vindicator this morning before breakfast. I can't wait to get it painted. I've decided to put a huge Exorcists skull on the front of the siege shield. It's going to look totally f'ing metal.
