I hope they keep the old format in terms of being packed full of lore about each unit. That was my favorite part of IA1 and IA2.

With any luck, they'll also fold in stuff from later volumes.
Bah. Who am I kidding, this is GW...

The 'example' pages showed some units definitely not in IA1.1 - such as the Minotaur. Gorgon was shown - both Apoc stamped. The Maticore was shown - 40K stamped - so those skyfire missiles probably available...

Don't recall seeing any but it was the usual few example pages, not too hot, and no contents page.

Rats. I wanted to know if my beloved Sabre Gun Defense Platforms had changed in price to field. :)

Well then. I see my beloved Sabre in the table of contents which means I need to buy the darn thing and hope that nothing is changed that is going to make me redo my current lists.

Please keep the Hades Breaching Drill as they are. Please.Just got my book today, sadly they got meganerfed into oblivion. I was expecting *some* changes, but expect their presence on tables to be pretty much extirpated by this book, their chance of mishap when used against vehicles ranged from just over 50% against AV10 targets to over 70% against AV14 targets and suffer a -2 on mishap charts now and take their follow-up infantry unit (now a watered down Vets unit that's an Elites choice not a Troop) with them if they mishap.
They likewise for some reason decided the Centaur needed to take a Fast Attack slot, and that the Coaxial rule for Vanquisher heavy stubbers was just too good, and removed the "accurate bombardment" rule from Heavy Mortars. LR Conquerors are back to S7 AP4 small blast guns. Hydra Platforms lots Interceptor and got nerfed from being T7 3+sv W2 artillery units to AV10 HP2 immobile vehicle units.
Aside from Trojans and Atlas's getting a minor irrelevant special rule each and the Rapier Laser Destroyer going from awful-to-almost-mediocre, everything largely stayed the same or got worse. I'm rather suprised given the size, cost, and scale of the book.

I won't get mine until xmas morning. Since you didn't mention the Sabre I'm assuming it stayed about the same except for about a 10pt price increase?

Excellent. I expected an increase of 10pts but not much else. I'm very pleased since I've been using them in my all-comer lists and find them an excellent tool to cover the glaring hole in the CSM Codex, i.e. effective AA (Havocs just don't do the job).

Not to dig up an old thread here, but would anyone mind sharing (or messaging me) the new updated rules for the field artillery? Are they still AV10 pieces of crap or are they actual artillery now like the earth shaker and medusa carriages?

Are you talking about the Artillery Unit? or Artillery as in Earthshaker and medusa, which are technically tanks with low armor values. If you are talking about the carriages, they are like a 6E thunderfire cannon. There is a crew (of 4 guardsman) with the gun having its own profile (S7 W4 3+) http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/h/Heavy_Artillery.pdf.
