How often do you guys play Kill Team or see it played?
I'm very interested in it as a new guy wanting to get his rocks off with certain armies through painting and modelling but not enough to commit to them. ;)

I don't see it played all that often to be honest, which is a shame! The times i have played it i have absolutely loved it. What i would recommend is you start by doing a Kill Team, then if you like the army you build it up to a Schools League scale (off the top of my head 650 points with certain limitations - should be available on GW site) and then if you still like it you take it up 1000 and then on from there!

I see it occasionally in my LGS, most tend to want to play full-fledged games.

Indeed, it is a shame. What potential for real fun. But I suppose I understand people with limited time wanting to get full games in.

This is a link to 6th Ed kill team which this person has made/updated. Me and my gaming group have quite enjoyed this rule set.

Myself and my little gaming group play small kill team tournaments between each other a few times a year.
Its easy to knock out 5 or 6 'battles' in an evening and we often play that you can not take the same list twice which results all sorts of things turning up on the table!
Blood angel Scouts and a Furioso dreadnought does some damage as does a squad of wraith guard backed up by a viper!
If you can find a mate or two who enjoy it then your laughing!
Good Luck!

Never. I'm a go big or go home kinda gamer.
For skirmishy goodness, it's the good old gantries of Hive Primus for me and my Cawdor.

Not enough :D
It's got so many opportunities for narrative gaming that just aren't their in a full-size battle.
Several years ago they ran a couple of series of articles in Oz WD of campaigns run by a couple of guys with escalating points. I'm pretty sure they were Australian, so the articles only ran in the Oz WD.
The first one was Ad Mech vs Tyranids on an ice planet, the second was Vostroyans vs Chaos Guard on a hive planet that had already fell to Chaos.
I suppose the point of this (extended) reminiscence is that smaller games, and especially Kill-Team-sized games, allow cool conversions and terrain modelling that would be way more work for a full-sized force, and doesn't necessarily make sense on that scale anyway. Also, if you've got a good gaming buddy, you can organise a series of custom games where you each build a custom force for the campaign.

We do a lot of kill team games to introduce newcomers to some basic game mechanics. Some newcomers also dont have many models, so kill team games are perfect in that regard. Ours tend to end up as "free for all multiplayer mosh pits of temporary alliances and backstabbing". It gets hilarious.
Since 6th rolled in, we haven't done any KT due to having to relearn the game :<

It would just be fun to throw in a KT mission to mix things up in a campaign.

For laughs, told someone taking a Harpy in a Kill Team would be funny, they just shook their head at me. Eh, I guess it depends on who you play against. Some people will just be looking for laughs. Others will want to play a more serious game.
