I´m trying to get the BATREP-video up tonight/tomorrow, but the game went on for seven hours, so i didnt have the energy last night...so here´s the text recap for those who just cant wait 8) ...
So, the mission was Pact of Blood (from the 300-something page in the rulebook), which is 2 vs. 2 player mission and is actually a good one, i recommend it to all clubs, with multiple players. I must warn you thou, than it was A LONG MATCH, we started around one one o´clock and it ended at eight and it was only 5 turns!!
I apologize, that i dont remember all of the GK/BA or CSM/IG units, check the video for that.
We agreed on the basic deployment (long sides) and GK/BA/Eldar me and my friend) went in first. I got the Aegis line + quad gun with DR´s and guardians with Eldrad and Avatar holding our one objective (total of three) and WW´s (with BL´s this time, what!? :shock: ) behind it too. Hornet (BL´s), WW´s (SL´s) outflanking. One set of DA´s in a WS behind one building and one in the reserves. 3 x Guardian jetbikes also in the reserves. GK/BA were in the building, which had objective in the top and he went all out after the cursed CSM and traitor army. He had his GK deathstar walking str8 from the middle of the board and Vindicare assassin collecting fire also in the tallest building. First round i held back and fired all guns i had, but enemys aegis and nightfighting prevented most of the damage. But GK Interceptors lit up the night and flamed away loads of IG dudes and some of the Noise Marines. GK had the 10 man squad of tormented psykers, who drop the str 10 blast, which was great in this match, it would have destroyed 3 obliterators, but he made two invl. saves. Vindicare assassin took down one of the tanks with turbo rounds. CSM/IG first turn concentrated almost with every unit on Interceptors (wiped out) and GK deathstar (couple of casualties).Mortar squad killed couple of Guardians, but Avatar held them in their place. One of the WW´s fell to Autocannon(?) IG fire. Round two, and everything, excluding G-jetbikes came in. I outflanked Hornet from the right side and WW´s on the left. WS went also in to hiding (cos Marbo was on the roster), and the two WS were parked back to back.AGAIN the tlBL´s and the BL´s FAILED!!! I think, i got like one glansing hit!! GK deathstar marched forward shooting couple of dudes away from the Noise Marines and Vindicare assassin took something down. Tormented psykers blasted away again, killing couple of NM´s on the left side. That same side saw one of the weakest showings of 3xWW´s (SL´s) ever, seven wounds, one failed save...CSM/IG turn two and on came the flying Daemon prince and couple of outflanking meltacannon fast attack annoyances. GKDS collected fire and the VA, but the assassin couldnt handle the DP and Havoc fire from the building in their zone...meltacannons killed couple of the Guardians and the Chaos Lord + CC raptors (cant remember the name now, damn, it this brain of mine) were closing in fast. CL used his 12" + flamer template to make room, few of the DR´s went down. Mortar and artillery kept cutting down my Guardians, but i made most of the saves. NM´s on the left opened fire and one of the WW´s went down, and other lost a HP. GKDS was fired upon again, but they kept going, with couple of dudes dead (Justicar kept coming back and back and back...)
Turn three and DR´s + Guardians BL cut down the DP!! Beyond that, it was furious fighting, main points were Dantes arrival and destruction of one tank and then collecting ALL the fire in the back and getting killed. Eldrad+Avatar vs. CL with his cronies went on to turn 5 with Lord only one wound left and Eldrad suffering one. Marbo got killed by GK´s i´ve Been Expecting You -rule (or something like that). Vendettas hovering and my Quad-gun wiffin (and getting destroyed) didn´t help. Sorry about the rushed text but i´m at work :lol:
On the bottom of turn 5, the game was a draw, 1 x 3p each, plus SWL both, and FB us and LB them = 5 to 5...then NM´s decided to assault the WS, who was sitting on the objective on the left (the building collapsed and the Tormented were squished...), he threw a grenade and it wrecked the WS and i got out and held the objective...did the game end...
YES!!!!! 8 to 5 GK/BA + ELDAR victory!!!!!!
Very good, but very tiring match. If it had gone to turns 6 or even 7, i think CSM/IG might have taken it. But, hey, dice roll, and this time, luck was with us...check the BATREP video, when it´s up, we had amazing board and the armies were massive!!
