Hey all

I want to make a Nurgle Heldrake, I want it to look like a giant fly. So the question is, what parts can I use? I want to try and stick to GW if possible. Initial thoughts are one of the Goblin spiders as abdomen/thorax - and then summat else for the head with milliputted eyes etc. Wings some sort of seethrough plastic bit shaped like flamer template.

What are the gobbo spiders like, and can anyone think of anything better?

Cheers,

Kirsten

the spider idea is a good one, but I would go arachnorok spider, the helldrake is pretty huge

I've spent the last 15 minute searching for a Arachnorok-Helldrake-fly as I am postive I have seen a very nice coverted one earlier.

This thing is awesome Wolfy although the turbines say plague drone to me. Aragnorok it could be. Will post after further enquiries, all suggestions welcome.

The main body is an Aracknarok, the turbines are from the Blight Drone I think.

It is from http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=4900016-gws

"The Fly" is Rasmus' incredible flying machine, which is based on the Arachnarok Spider. The vast rotors that keep it in the air are made from drain pipes, while the blades are made of plasticard. The rest of the model is a combination of Green Stuff and anything else that Rasmus had lying around in his bitz box, including what appears to be a Kannon from an Ork Battlewagon protruding from the fly's torso.

He has a plog here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/blog/900/395043.page

The Blight Drone's fans are a bit smaller.

For wings a potential source of iridescent plasticard would be a stationary shop - specifically kid's document holders and plastic sleeve files with shiny covers. Cheap to buy and large pieces good for cutting up.

I think a conversion like that would work quite well as a nurgle heldrake. Sorry to say, but consider your idea stolen.

Its just occurred to me I could probably use an original greater unclean one body as the middle bit - suitably rouunded and grotesque - then worry about the end bit (I forget which is the thorax and which the abdomen!) some other fashion.
