Thunderwolf cavalry substitutes?

I play a vanilla marine army. The colour scheme is dark green trimmed orange. Shoulder pads and vehicle panels are the same orange with brown/black tiger stripes. The army is themed on tigers.

I want to add a few units/characters and then play a list from the SW codex. Thunderwolf cavalry look very good, but how to model them is the problem.

Does anyone have any good suggestions how to model thunderwolves? I am thinking of perhaps small plastic tigers from a toyshop. Are there any good models in the WHFB or LotR ranges which might be used with some conversion?

YOu could also use the sabretusks from the Ogre hunter. GW sells them as bitz still.
