I was converting a Dreadknight into a decimator but it was languishing on my desk until someone threw the forgefiend ectoplasma bits at me. Behold!

It's supposed to be for my actual chaos looking army the Iron Hounds but my brain is screaming at me that would look great in my Pre-Heresy Emperor's Children colors. Thoughts?

I don't think this guy is pre-heresy at all. The juxtaposition of smooth plates, twisted metal, and tortured flabby flesh totally say "daemon engine" to me, even more so than the unmodified forgefiend.

looks great, but loose the track guards.
the whole model is curved, forge fiend does not have a straight edge on it and the dread knight legs are hardly killer kans.
if you want to add a PH spin to your fluff class it as a demon engine version of the old battle robots

Yeah I'm not kidding myself. There's no way I can spin it off as PH.

I'll look at replacing the shoulders but structurally I think I'm going to leave the ones on the legs.

Yeah looks awesome, iron warriors I reckon would look good as a scheme. I like the use of the Ork parts too.
You could even use this a FW decimator, which have some cool rules.
The smooth plates that some have suggested be removed could instead be battle damaged. Would be an ideal place for hazard stripes too :)

I think battle damage is overused. Hazard stripes, though, would be awesome.

Yeah I think the ectoplasma cannons could double as the decimator claws.

Agreed. Since you both suggested it I think hazard stripes it is.

Slowly but surely. I'd be done if it weren't for my stupid sleep needing body.

Thanks! Hopefully it'll be striking when I use it too. : )
