What year you going for?

Really haven't decided, other than late war. Is it the usual practice to select a specific year?

Well, I'm wondering if you were going for early war. The year determines what equipment is available to your forces.
If your not doing early Id ditch the AT rifles and 45mm's in favor of 76.2mm AT guns.

I was thinking of ditching the 45mm's for this setup instead....

Limited Air Support: Il-2 Shturmovik

To my mind, this allows the force to do what it does best... Arty with a very strong defensive infantry force. Seems to me that the Limited Shturmoviks will be about as deadly to heavy armour as the assault guns, so it's a better deal, and a bigger threat, especially as they cannot be killed and forgotten.

The AT-Rifles I really like. I think they provide a certain amount of quality to the quantity of fire that the platoons can dish out. Small/light vehicles are very common, and my opponents like to use such vehicles as Universal Carriers and other light Machine Gun mounts to tackle infantry. This should give that tactic just a little pause.

Dunno? Do you think is force is better themed? More competitive? Two steps in the wrong direction?

Cheers, and thanks much for your comments.

AT rifles are not very effective as a rule, even against light vehicles and got ditched quite early in the war. I like the second list better then the first.

I'm not expecting them to do much... just add to the threat level of a dug-in infantry company.

Also...for 95pts, I get a 10-stand base of fearless infantry, making it necessary to wipe out 4 of my 6 platoons to force a Battalion Morale check. Cheap for the points, I think.

I like the second list better as well. So no tanks in this list.

Cheers.
