Hello all,

I decided to make a thread where we can discuss everything to do with the upcoming Elder Scrolls MMO, I want to know who is going to be playing it, and what races we are going to play.

Me? Well I like Argonians. :p

I'll either make an Imperial or a Dunmer. I like blondes but I also like sneaky dark elves. Of course this means I'll just make both, yay multiople character slots.

We have:

Argonian

Daggerfall Covenant
Breton
Orsimer

The Story:

It is a time of strife and unrest. Armies of revenants and dark spirits manifest in every corner of Tamriel. Winters grow colder and crops fail. Mystics are plagued by nightmares and portents of doom.
Four years ago, in 2E 578, an arcane explosion of energy in the Imperial City set off mystical aftershocks that swept across Nirn. Mages died or went mad. Supernatural abominations from the plane of Oblivion, the Daedra, appeared in greater numbers than ever before. The constellation of the Serpent grew so large that it dominated the night sky.
So began the grand scheme of Molag Bal, Daedric Prince of domination and enslavement. His Dark Anchors, vortexes of evil magic, weaken the barrier between worlds, threatening to merge Nirn and Oblivion into a single, nightmarish hellscape.
In the midst of this chaos, three alliances vie for control of the Imperial City and the White-Gold Tower. High Rock, Sentinel, and Orisnium stand as one, united under the rule of the High King in Wayrest, Valenwood and Elsweyr have forged an alliance with Summerset, and Black Marsh, Morrowind, and Skyrim have joined forces and formed their own uneasy pact.
The Daggerfall Covenant. The Aldmeri Dominion. The Ebonheart Pact.
Three armies will take up arms against the Empire, and against each other, to wrest control of the Imperial City and White-Gold Tower from the dark forces of Oblivion itself.
Where do your loyalties lie?

The Fragile Alliances:

The drums of war have reached a fever pitch, calling the warriors of Tamriel to the field of battle. The Daggerfall Covenant, the Ebonheart Pact, and the Aldmeri Dominion will take up arms and fight for control of Cyrodiil, the Imperial City, and the throne of Tamriel.
Featuring three-sided Player vs. Player (PvP) gameplay, The Elder Scrolls Online supports hundreds of players on screen at once in an open world fight for control of Cyrodiil. Sieze, hold, and control the resources of massive strongholds. Utilize massive siege weapons to crumble fortress walls and smash through fortified gates. Conquer the Imperial City, and your alliance’s top player could even be crowned Emperor!
Get ready for the most intense online PvP experience ever created, with The Elder Scrolls Online.

The Daggerfall Covenant is comprised of the two Provinces of northwest Tamriel: High Rock and Hammerfell, home to the Bretons and the Redguards. The Covenant has also offered the Orcs the opportunity to return to their ancient homeland of Orsinium in exchange for their support. Working together, the three races have formed a powerful alliance that aims to restore the Second Empire and bring peace and prosperity back to Tamriel.

The Ebonheart Pact is the most tenuous of alliances, consisting of former enemies turned allies in northern and eastern Tamriel. The Nords, Dark Elves, and Argonians of Skyrim, Morrowind, and Black Marsh fight to restore stability to the Empire and ensure their own autonomy.

The Aldmeri Dominion is composed of the three races of southern Tamriel: the Wood Elves of Valenwood, the Khajiit of Elsweyr and the leaders of the Pact, the High Elves of the Summerset Isles. The Aldmeri Dominion fights to stop the dangerous machinations of humankind, and restore the Elven dominance in Tamriel.

Ooooh. Cans we be Bretons?

Bretons are cool.

I thought I saw some mention of Bretons in the video? Doesn't really matter, human for blondeness, they are all basically the same.

Tzeentch's Dark Agent
10-26-2012, 12:06 AM
Yeah, they're cool!

Bretons are the product of Elf-y Man-y intercourse IIRC.

EDIT: Confirmed! They are the descendants of the ancient man and elves. :p

Also, I see the confusion. I was asking if me and you personally could be Bretons. :D

I read that in one of the books on Skyrim, Bretons and Elves bred so it was hard to spot differences. Explains the magical resistance.

Tzeentch's Dark Agent
10-26-2012, 12:24 AM
Well, it wasn't quite that simple.

The Aldmer bred with the Nedes (the first men from Atmora) because they wanted their superior bloodline to be in the lesser races, then gradually over many years Bretons came to be. The Aldmer were then driven from Tamriel.

Like I said, Elves and humans bred an made Bretons who the Nords had trouble distinguishing from elves.:p

Tzeentch's Dark Agent
10-26-2012, 12:30 AM
But they weren't called Bretons until after the Aldmer were gone. :p

Anyway, enough of that sillyness.

Has anyone played Real Estate Simulator on Skyrim?
I'm wondering if there will be a similar thing Online...

I shall be a Nord as always. Clank around in heavy armour and generally wade into any mob that gets in the way. Either sword and board for tanking or dual wielding when having some berserker fun. I don't really play mmo games with self preservation in mind :)

I loved Skyrim, that and the fable games are the only ones I have 100% achievements on.

Yes TDA I have hearth fire expansion. It's ok but not great.

Hearthfire is fun, had a big hunting trip where I made a lsit of everything I needed (goat horns, pelts, fangs etc) and shot stuff in the face* until I had everything for all three houses. Getting all the iron and wood was a little less fun.
I was a little dissapointed with the tower add-ons though. The alchemy and library towers were really small and quite boring compared to the armoury and whatnot.

*Actually the bottom. Seriously every time I shot an animal with my bow it would turn around and take it up the rectum.

It isn't is it? Cool for 5 mins when it's done, then it's just another house. :p

I'll probably be an Argonian healer for our Ebonheart Pact group. :)

EDIT: Also, my house is full of WALRUS!

What platform is this on, and is it f2p, one off purchase, or subscription based?

There's an MMO!? Why is this the first I'm hearing of this??? When, where, how, what? Details people, I need details!

PC? Like other good MMOs?

We'll have to see about subscription. I haven't heard anything yet.

@Wildey - I posted the plot and characters...

Awh, that's ages away. You got my hopes up then, why you making threads about games that aren't out for years, you making me prematurely excited.

As opposed to Dragon Age 3.....

I've tried to steer clear of that for similar reasons.

I'd probably make a Breton first, it's what I usually use in ES games. If there's a monthly fee it'll be a hard sell for me though.

The difference is IRL I can't murder my wife to make my sword more powerful, drag her body and dump it in the fire place. Then later on come back and turn her into a zombie and have her expire for a 2nd time and leave a delightful glowing pile of her ashes on my doorstep. I could be wrong, but I am quite sure I can't :p
