I retooled my footslogging Space Wolves list and I had an idea of adding in a Wolf Guard Battle Leader with Saga of the Hunter allowing him to outflank. If the Wolf Guard Battle Leader is given the rule by Saga of the Hunter and joins a pack of Grey Hunters with a Wolf Guard (as a pack leader) - can the entire unit Wolf Guard Battle Leader, Grey Hunters, and the Wolf Guard all outflank?
I want to test it out tonight but I want to make sure it is legal first. - I personally think a Wolf Guard Battle Leader (Terminator Armor, Combi-Plasma, Wolf Claw) Wolf Guard (Terminator Armor, Combi-Plasma, Power Fist) 10 Grey Hunters (2 Plasma Guns, Mark of the Wulfen) all outflanking as one unit would be fun.
Thanks

Saga of the Hunter says the character can outflank and the rulebook says any unit containing at least one model with the outflank rule can outflank, so I think you can.

I think you can as well but your leader can only have power armor, not runic or termie which makes it not as good.

he absolutely can! my new favorite saga! this unit has won me soooo many games, but check page 85 dude, the WGBL with the saga can only have power armor so one of those guys cant have TDA..... you are gonna love this saga though, i run mine with combi plas and wolf claw, with a GH squad of 2 plasmas and plasma pistol, and if im running them, a WG with double plasma pistol (cuz i can) thats 9 (NINE) plasma shots coming in on the flank!!!!!

Yep, I can second that tactic. One thing I love personally about the Space Wolf in it's current Codex incarnation is that you can play totally fluffy, kick some *** and have a major good time. I run mine as a drop-pod force.. like the combined pack alpha strike. If you want to do the sneaky hunter from the mists kinda thing, you can do that too. Want to be the wary hunter pack that prowls and circles, picking at a target before rushing for the kill? All very possible and viable with Space Wolves.
Love them Hairy Viking Marines!

Damn! I never thought of this, i like :). Only i would take the wolf priest because of the 4++ save and prefered enemy (hello re-roll plasma). You can do this with every unit, even wg termies, only the character must have pa, it says nothing of units containing tda. Btw 2 pistols sounds cool but you can stil only shoot 1 weapon in a turn, so go for the combi-plasma. Also this makes the hunter saga on priest and long fangs deadly aswell! Stealth + prefered enemy makes a good anti *insert unit*...eeh unit.

Unless you have two pistols, in which case you can fire both in the Shooting phase. cf. page 52:
Gunslinger
All models with two pistols can fire both in the Shooting phase. This follows the normal rules for shooting.

If there were other abbreviations useful for citations I'd use those too ;)

Since it's only being used in place of 'see' it's rather useless :p

That's:
cf. cf.
sounds like overkill to me. :)
I mean, that's going from my crass attitude to just being plain rude.
