Nice. I agree with your decision not to use the banner on the dread... mine ended up being used as the company standard, seemed fairly appropriate for the 3rd company!

I'm hoping to use it with a Space Marine Casualty as a sweet objective marker.

I just like my Dreads more compact and battle ready!

I did a wash on the gold as well. I guess it's just not showing. It doesn't really show in the larger pics either.

I used black to really try to draw out the recesses but it didn't work. Maybe I'll try again.

I agree with the wash on the gold and maybe you could do some highlighting over it to bring it out more. plus maybe some extreme highlighting on the blue itself, just my opinion though. other than that it looks great! the ultramarines dread looks much better than the dark angels dread that i have in my army. the more recent dreads have alot more detail and components

Very nice lookin' ven dred. I agree with the others FW does make some nice toyz as well.
