I finally bit the bullet and pulled out my tabletop gaming army for Warhammer 40,000.

One of the things I have always liked about the game is you can customize the unit your army comes from. *I picked an army based on Dark Angels. *I chose the name "Angels of Grace" and went with a old testament naming theme. *I used the 12 tribes of Israel as well as some other names thrown in. *I went for the 5th Company of the Angels of Grace Space Marines Chapter.

When I pulled everything out I found that there were a few characters that needed redone or added to. *The 7th squad needed their jump packs painted and decals put on. *The 1st squad needed decals made for company symbol and then applied. *So, over the last week or so I have completed these miniatures and gotten them ready for sale or use.

Let me introduce you to them.

While I was collecting and playing I bought and collected many more miniatures. 7 more 10 man squads, tons of command and veterans, characters, land speeders, and such. I think in a few weeks I could have enough of the other miniatures painted up to try out a few battles. Guess I will see if I can locate a game or two after that.

I will post updates on painting progress as I go along. *Comments, advice and such welcome.

God Bless,
Ken

Looking pretty good man. I love Dark Angels. My only suggestion/critique is that the details look a little flat on the bits such as the crozius, skulls and gems. I'd apply a little more wash/ink and add a little more highlights. A tiny bit of varnish might look good too. Other than that it looks really good. Love that you painted them white too, Angels of Absolution style. Sweet man, looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the advice. I painted the above miniatures in the late 90s and early 00s. I do not know if I am going to go back and redo the. Guess it matters on when the mood strikes me.

Here is Command Squad Judah that I painted up over a few nights. I experimented with the lightning effect on the power axes. Inks and layers and a final cloat of gloss after the model had been dullcoteed. I also messed with layering and shading on the apoc. First time I have ever gotten white to turn out looking decent.
