options for a chaos sorcerer in terminator armour

Can a chaos sorcerer in terminator armour take any other close combat weapon than his force weapon?

I'm inclined to say no because in the terminator weapons section it says you may replace his power weapon with the other choices, but since he has a force weapon I don't think he would be able to.

Opinions?

You can replace his combi-bolter to add a power weapon, lightning claw, power fist, or chainfist from the Terminator Weapons wargear section.

You can also replace either his combi-bolter or his force weapon with the Murder Sword or Black Mace from the Chaos Artifacts wargear section.

Dont tool him for combat, there are better things in the codex for that. There isn't really much point. He is I4 (barring a good roll on biomancy or Mark of Slannesh) so the big killy weapons like the murder sword or black mace are a bit wasted on him as you will almost always be hitting after your opponent. You could roll with that and take a power fist or axe, but why when you can have a Force Axe for free?

You could try Mark of Tzeentch + Sigil of corruption for the 3+inv save but he still might get sliced to bits before he fights.

Looking at the melee weapons list, the same sort of thing occurs. It says a "close combat weapon" may be replaced, not "melee". He can still replace his bolt pistol though.

Looking through the other units that get these replacements, this looks deliberate, not an oversight or muddied language. Sorcerers would use arcane weapons right? So, either a force weapon or they take an artefact.

When you give him Terminator armor, he gives up all the standard wargear for just Terminator Armor, Combi-bolter, and Force weapon. Although I'm in agreement with Kevlarshark, Force Axes are awesome, no point in spending points on a Fist.

If you were responding to my post, allow me to clarify that I meant "even if you don't upgrade to termie armor" and so are limited to the other upgrades.
