FWIW.

Got a few bits for the csm fans.

Helbrute is the only DV model getting a release soon. But don't expect it in 2012. All codex options are there, and the model looks fantastic, it should not be too...long of wait though.

One of the staffers has csm plague zombies on his/her desk. All conversions. Hard to tell from the new photography, these are really great conversions, so when they show up, no one get excited.

Thousand Sons will get the first plastic kit when they come out. But that doesn't mean others won't be out at the same time. I know that's cryptic, and it's on purpose.

There was a csm plastic revamp that was underway. I cannot get a response on if it is still coming or not, normally if something is scrapped people are straight forward. This much obfuscation tells me something is happening.

There is a bit of chaos scenery coming. It should please world eaters.

Cheers

I'm very fond of the new Chaos Codex and Chaos in general and have started a new force around Slaanesh, however I feel many of the models are simply not up to scratch and GW hase missed an amazing opportunity.

Lucius and Fabius Bile models are ancient and are very static/awkward looking, the standard troops aren't anywhere near as good as say the Space Wolves sprues, the defiler is still very boxy and I' not sure who gave the ok for the new mutilators.

Chaos have so many opportunities for creativity and awesome, just look at the fantastic Helbrute and Chosen, unfortunately I can't find a use for either of these in my army that others can't do better or more cost efficiently so the Dark Vengeance models will just sit pretty.

I'm also bummed that for a 10 man noise marine squad I have to pay £48, that's too much for a 5 year old product.

I agree with Lucius. The reason that Dark Eldar became so successful was the entire modernized revamp. Chaos Marines still have very old models, like Khorne Berzerkers and Plague Marines that are really a shame. People would buy them if they got updated, even if they already had an army full of them because that's the nature of the consumer, they like to buy the greatest and latest. Hasn't GW learned anything from Apple? Apple releases a product with one or two new features and people that have bought every incarnation of it before will still buy the new one, even though it's overpriced and gives you nothing extra!

Yes. They learned that providing too much advance notice on new products can cut into sales on old ones. I'm not complaining, just observing. They're right on that point even if it may occasionally mean we're left scratching our heads as to whether we should convert something or wait.
