First, credit to The God of Nothing who I rampantly stole some of this concept from. I was in the market for Heldrake, and have decided to do my favourite, Swap wings and head from the actual kit, with some other parts, to get 2. Herewith:

Heldrake 1. A mix of a dragon's heid, drop pod, valkyrie, heldrake body.

6 o'clock. I may go back and fill a couple of gaps - if I can be arsed. The rear turbine is off drop pod.

My thing is I will have 2 (not necessarily to use at the same time, points depending.). One will be Iron warriors, one World Eaters. Now, the thing I can't decide (comments appreciated) is that one is going to be an abortion of a real life daemon-dragon thingy mixed together with salvaged parts - the one you can see. The other will be mostly heldrake wings and head - just a different body.

But who is more likely to have a ramshackle, smashed together - ie the one shown - Iron Warriors becuase you have to be BA Baracus to improvise like that - or World Eaters because all you cna do is take a lobotomised flying nasty and smash it in with some warp jizz and captured parts?

Answers on a post card!

I don't think that either would be ramshackle. That's just thinking abit to much like a Mekboy. Now an Iron warrior's Helldrake would be mostly mechanical in form/feel, so closer to the actual model where's a World Eater's I can see as being quite a bit more biological. Say something along the lines of a Hollywood vampire bat?

So going by that Mud Duck I would say the above would be World Eaters - allows me to have lots of black and brass parts and then bright red organics. Like it.

In support of Mad Duck, I would also have to say that the more refined of the 2 should be Iron Warriors. After all, they control numerous Chaos Forges, and are in a position to make something better.

Number 1 - finished. Except for base. But as ever, working against time prior to a tourney, I won't do anything special with base. So, herewith:

The head - an old WH dragon. I went with white eyes as a tribute to some of the beasties on the front of Slaves to Darkness.

A top down. It is quite rough and ready but looks good across the table. I have stuck on some autocannons - this is supposed to be a beast some berzerker clan merged with flyer parts - the autocannons could be removed for servicing. But normally I would run with the flamer anyway - just gives me flex for WYSIWYG.

Next up will be an Iron Warriors bird. Comments appreciated.

Number 2: This one an Iron Warriors. As background, I wanted to get 2 from one kit. The body of this is an old starwars toy - the Imperial bike thing that sprung up and down on 2 wheels. I swept the wings back, and used bits from drop pod to bulk the body. You may notice there is no landing gear. The little cylinders on either side at the bottom are the suspensors that engage in hangar. The cannon is off some gundam stylee robot thing - I liked the thought of a massive center-line cannon. So, these 2 birds run one baleflamer, one Hades cannon - the first to smash troops, the second against enemy air.

Again, thoughts appreciated.

Lastly, rear on. Boosters are tomato puree tops, the hatching for Iron Warriors looks. The reason they ain't straight is because of the way my hand wobbles like Guy Fawkes after torture!

Haha. I was about to say. That looks oddly familiar. Looking good though for the second one if you're working with the dragon head I would keep the larger wings to the front.

Ok, a couple of pictures of the Plague Drake. It is a mix of drake and plague drone. Whilst the plague drone's wings aren't big enough as a pait to keep it up, I reckoned of I used all 12 from a box it would do it... Also I drilled out the inside of the drake's webbed wings with a multi tool. First one, bit of breakage, second one, left on sprue.
