If you have a look at the bottom of page 80 in the new csm codex there's a picture of the new Warp Tallons with some guardsmen. But if you look at the trenchlike terrain the guard are stood in, it looks like a modular trench system. Originally I thought it could be made from fortress of redemption panels, but I don't recognise them and they all look to have identical detailling. Plus if you look between guardsmen 4 and 5 (counting from left to right in the pic) there's quite clearly a gap where they've combined 2 sets. Anyone got any thoughts about this?

I just looked at it. It isnt anything forgeworld has ever made.

Defo new. Skeletons piled at the foot aren't blitz, but a single moulding...

exactly, what would really make it perfect would be a modular artillery pit to go in it

Ya, my Siege guns really do need cover....and the crew could use the trench's :D

well an aegis line is a set size with an optional gun, a trench could be a set size with an optional vehicle position. GW you can have that idea for free.

Looks very interesting. I'd deffinitely be willing to pay a decent penny for a set of those. Maybe £20 for about the same length as an Aegis line?

Maybe a main set and a smaller, cheaper set for £10 with end setions, corners and/or Y- or X- junctions... something of that nature anyway.

Looks like a Chaos version of an Aegis Line to me.

Apart from the Imparial Aquilla stanchions, you mean?

well it isn't chaos, it has imperial eagles on it. I hope it is a new terrain piece though, more fortifications can only be a good thing

Yeah, it's not what I was thinking of.

And the fact that it's designed as a trench, with two parallel walls that the guys stand between.

I know, not actually a trench if it's above ground, but I can't remember the proper word for the similar WW1 defence built above ground, which was usually just a single wall anyway ...

That does seem like new terrain, hope that it isn't too expensive, because that would be cool to have. Also, It would be hard to have bellow ground trenches that you can move at will.

Ohh, it's definitely spikey :D

When you referred to the Aegis line, I thought you meant it might be an alternative model for it. But it's clear it must have new rules. If it gets released, that is.

Way back when there was a supposed 2013 release list leaked that included this:

200462312010203 Space Marine Astartes Battle Fortress Defence Wall PL

One could assume that if anything in that list was legit, this picture could be early production tests of that. I remember we were seeing the statue from the Honored Imperium set for maybe a year or two before release.

True, but they described that as eventually choosing to release something they'd been using in the modelling studio themselves for ages. Also, not sure if they had it in plastic, or if it was moulded in something else while they were keeping it to themselves. Not that they haven't done scenery in plastic (http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/File:Unreleased_-_Cityfight_Prototype_Sprue.jpg) and not released it before. I just remember they did several of those statues that had quite large bits knocked off, which would be much easier in anything but plastic.

I do hope this is confirmation of that leaked list being true, as it was awesome ... I guess I'm just playing devil's advocate.
