So as some of us now have our greedy mitts on the Betrayal book, where are you guys heading next ?
Are you going to start a brand new strictly pre-heresy army ?
Will you add pre-heresy models to your existing army and cover both bases ? So your models can and will be used in both heresy and 40k games
Just buy the odd nice kit and not play a full heresy army
The reason I ask is because I have thought of doing all 3 and can't decide.
I thought, I should do heresy Salamanders, it's my main army and so I can add bits slowly and use them in both games.
Then I thought, start a new army. Death Guard look real nice in the book, effectively I could use the legion book, the sm codex and the new chaos dex. Just by swapping a few units around.
This does mean starting a whole new army though, which is daunting enough for anyone.
Then I thought completely out the box and said to myself " how about heresy BA"
This book as much as I love it has me undecided.
Now we have Betrayal what are you going to do with it.

I'll probably only get the odd cool mini like the retro comms guy or other character models than a full blown army. The temptation might be stronger when they release non-marine stuff though.

If i could get the book from a store in Canada or have one to read to figure out my army list i would be doing Deathguard and placing a massive fw order, then allie in my deathguard (If anyone complains ill say there imperial army...) for a cool army! Mind you can't get the Damn book -_-

I haven't had a chance to see the book, are they actually doing non-marine armies? That may seem like a silly question but I've literally heard next to nothing about the project. I've always thought an army of mega-rachnids would be pretty cool :)

There is a tiny section of those tech lot from mars in the back of this one, but 99% of it is legions.

Well for my Blood Angels, if I ever ger a hold of the book and another player Ill use what I have. I've alread kitted my veteran squads with older mk armors. Now I've stared CSM with "The Fallen" so Dark Angels in Pre-Hersey color scheme. so far using DA upgrade spruce with CSM squad and all the old Beakie heads and studed shoulder pads I can find. However, I plan to drop some coin on FW older Mk armor. They are to sweet to pass up. So it'll be some current CSM and some FW mixed in.

personally I am doing a heresy era Iron Warriors army that will work in both 30 and 40 K. There are actually a pretty large number of heresy type armour pieces in plastic already, if you have the patience to sift through bits sites. I am using a mix of forge world and plastics to reduce cost a little, and things like predators are just normal plastic ones. If I were to do a loyalist marine army in the future (probable) I would definitely look to see if I could make it for both eras, though currently I have Grey Knights (obviously post heresy) and love the Minotaurs (also post heresy :P)

I'm thinking of supplementing my existing Blood Angels with heresy units and armour. Then hopefully by the time they appear in one of the books I will have a sizeable force to use as heresy only.

I might have an honour guard of some sort to go with each primach, then see where it leads me...
