Throwing around insults to dismiss and belittle an opinion isnt the best way to debate, how about arguing your or actually explaining your point rather than calling me names?

I can appreciate good techno/trance but that kind of mastering when everything is compressed like that to be loud can cause fatigue, headaches and even hearing damage with prolonged listening. I'm not a snob because just Benny Benesai's Satisfaction hurts my ears.

Really? if so, then I apologise to him for misinterpreting what he is saying - the loudness wars is something I feel fairly passionate about as I care about peoples hearing and I think it's important for the public to be aware of the long term effects that stuff which is mastered like that can have - tinitus isn't exactly a nice thing and because of my own ignorant stupidity in the past I often get a faint ringing in my ears from listening to music too loud as a teen.

And that the video is intentionally corny. It's intentionally cheesy, overly-catchy pop with an un-cool middle aged guy wearing funny clothes, dancing funny, to the silly music. It's like watching an episode of SNL and complaining that there wasn't a coherent plot with well written and complex characters:P.

Besides, anyone who says "this doesn't meet my standards for audio quality because it [reference to random technical audio processing technique]" is automatically a snob and/or hipster. That's just how the internet works.

AX I read your post and the link to wikipedia on loudness war. 3 of the albums given as examples are amongst my favourites - Whats the story, Whatever you say I am (arctic northern monkeys) and Californication.

These are awesome with acceptable quality sound - which I find depends an awful lot on what you play it over.
