FW HH army lists and opponents for them.

From what I've gathered of the HH lists, the list themselves seem to be about marines, but with better gear and more of it.

But I wonder what army stands a chance against these better marines? Are there some intended opponents for them in the books? Is everyone else supposed to be cannon fodder for the crusade era marines?

They're hard, but they're not that hard.

Ultimately, they are there to be gauged against each other. I've noticed that they tend to be cheaper than your average Marine, but are far more constrained as unit choices. For instance, minimum sized Assault and Tactical squad is 10. Tactical Squads don't get special or heavy weapons, but additional marines are 10 points each. Your special and heavy weapon squads all come with a special or heavy weapon, but any upgrade is applied across the board, so no mixing of weapons.

This of course simplifies things for standard armies. Sure, that one squad might have say, 10 Lascannons, but they can only target a single unit per turn. Clearly anything they target is in for a very bad day, but everything else can nip about unmolested. Take out that squad early by hook or by crook, and your armour gets to dominate the board.

But there's only one way to find out.....FIIIIGHT!

I was thinking along the lines that Legions would fight legions with these army lists. But then are they going to get into chaos influenced legions.

They could but aren't there some xeno's characters that they could put in there. That orc that apparently kills the emperor. Have a hard time believing that one myself, unless it's some Darth Sidious ploy to get someone to do something according to the the Emperor's plan.
