Quick Question: The Helmets of Veteran Sergeants

So, if you have a veteran on loan from the 1st Company, serving as the sergeant to a squad of ordinary marines, and you decide to model him with his helmet on, and he's in a chapter that uses helmet color to distinguish veterans (ie. Blood Angels, or in the case of this question, Blood Ravens-as-interpreted-by-me) what color is that helmet? The veteran color, because he's a veteran, or the ordinary marine color, because he's part of a squad of ordinary marines?

always use the helm colour and for blood angels that would be gold. its easy to see with the assault squad kit (red helm for sarge)

or if you dont like that a gold stripe could be cool

I would do it as per the colour of their normal squad, so I often have blue helmet devestators in a tactical squad. When I see things like this it reminds me of them being on campaign and either having to make resuffles to either deal with the threat at hand or to cover for casualties recieved.

Standard Codex Astartes colours are:
Sergeants have red helmets
1st company veterans have white helmets

All the Blood Ravens I have seen have had their Veteran's helmets, including normal squad sergeants, painted the same bone colour as their shoulder pads.

There is also a movement to say that all Sarges are Vets. Based on that, they would have normal cfolours for their squad

That's basically what I'm going for, but I wanted to confirm it. So far, my only normal sergeant has a bare head. My only helmeted sergeant is the sergeant of a veteran squad. However, as I experiment with different sergeant loadouts and build alternate sergeants, some of them will be helmeted. I'll give them off-white helmets like my sternguard vets.

I agree with the bone white color for the helmets. Even in Dawn of War 2, following the shooting aspect of the Tactical Squad gives them Veteran status, Bone white helmets with a obsidian laural signifying veterancy. It looks really good too.
