Denied's Draigo + Base

[Denied]

I wanted to do something a little unique with my Draigo basing. Since he is always popping in and out of the Warp I thought it would be cool to have a warp portal trying to suck him into the beyond. Here is the entire process recorded enjoy.

You totally stole my idea, though I didn't have ghost skeletons and I used blue warp-stuff instead of green. And I magnetized my dude so I can use him as just about any GK Terminator HQ. Gonna do it for Mordrack's Ghost Knights as well when I get some more greenstuff.

Damn ... I should have magnetized him.... Well I have another Draigo model thanks to Failcast.

Really well though out. You captured the concept very well, and good use of the sculpting to generate the portal effect! I personally would have blended a little bit more with the brushwork on the portal, but at the same time it contrasts nicely with the clean look of Draigo. Well met sir!

Yeah I got that comment from a few other people but I really wanted the high contrasting lines. It is reminiscent of the art style used in things like Nightmare Before Christmas and the old Beetlejuice movie. That is sort of how my mind views the warp, in this surreal parody of existence. Cartoonishly scary, in an almost humorous way. Like you said thought it pulls it together by having Draigo on it and it looks a lot better in person I am not a great photographer.

Nice. I like the texturing in yours I was having a hard time getting that in mine, but still happy with the effect I was able to pull off thanks to the high contrasting paint.
