Hi all!

We've been testing out some of the Warzone 28mm plastics as they can be picked up so cheaply, and they seem to us like they could make great alternative Imperial Guard models, or similar squads like GK henchmen. We've taken lots of pics of the sprues and finished models which you can find here:

These models have been out for a while so no doubt there are people already using them in 40k. We'd love to hear how you're using them, and post pics if you have them!

Hi GG. I've been reading your posts on here for a while and quite enjoying them.

Can I ask where exactly on the http://www.princeaugust.ie/target_games/ site these specific minis are? I couldn't spot them immediately :o

Go to their eBay store - much easier to navigate! :)

Come on Graven, it wouldn't have hurt to show some head or weapon swaps to show the versatility.

Can you swap them? I was thinking that they were like snap fit marines, you know 1 pose only.

Well, kitbash, scratch build, whatever term you like. 3 steps: 1. Clip off Bauhaus Sgt pistol. 2. Clip laspistol off sprue. 3. Glue to Bauhaus Sgt hand - that sort of thing?

Here's a couple of conversions with them I've done.

They're pretty good; I plan on using them more as traitor guard than imperial guard, though. Here's an example of my colour test for some World Eaters preheresy allies. (The head is from Pig-Iron).

Et voila. Cheer Malty spot on - think I have seen before. Tbh I would have preferred you to chop in lasguns rather than drum mags. Not because it doesn't look cool but purely so someone else can do the hard work and i can judge if it is worth doing!!!

Well, these are going to be shotgun vets, and I haven't made any with lasguns because I can't stand lasguns. My entire IG army is equipped with converted weapons anyway, so I'm not the man to help you with that, I'm afraid. :) It'd be a very easy conversion to do though. The only issue is that they're made of a weird styrene plastic. I've been using superglue on them, rather than poly cement. If you don't mind that, seriously, how can you say no to 80 pretty nice models for £25 quid?

In the immortal words of the Python 'We already got one!'

Cheers for the tip on the plastic though - although wonder if this is some re-cast material the Irish company who owns the IP is using and mayhap the originals were pukka stuff?

@ Malton: So judging by that plasma pistol + chainsword, they're slightly smaller than Cadians.

Also, I was looking at the plastic in the photos and it looks a bit dodgy. How does it take to paint?

It's great seeing those pics, thanks for posting them! In our experience, the plastic used in making these is slightly harder and more brittle than GW plastics which we've found means that plastic glue works but leaves a slightly weaker bond than normal. Its still fine, but if you *really* tried you might be able to pull the part back off. Painting wise, we noticed no issues at all.

@Chris*ta: yeah, just ever so slightly smaller than Cadians; maybe half a millimetre. Nothing at all to worry about. As for paint, I've noticed no problems whatsoever. Primer goes on, paint sticks, job's a good 'un. Graven's comment about glue is very accurate - poly glue does bond, but poorly. I'd recommend superglue every time.

Basically, these are some pretty sweet models. If people like 'em, they're great for 40K.
