I hope that diarama is part of the base. The model itself captures Angron perfectly, but where's the bulk. I always envisioned Angron to be like Marvels Jugganought physique wise. Like a steamroller of maniacal muscle. Could be the picture but I don't see it.

Suppose we have to see him compared to the others.

DrLove42
09-19-2012, 07:01 AM
You also need to remember that normal marines are supposed to be huge bulk, which the models don't represent well.

I'm sure if we get models for the rest with this book (Mortarion and Fulgrim - We know Horus isn't coming until the very end) they (particularly Fulgrim) might be more thin

It seems like they're going for a "glorious golden angel of destruction" look for all the Primarchs, regardless of the look and feel of their Legion. We always knew Sanguinius was going to look that way, but we hadn't known about the others. Interesting. I think I approve.

Wolfshade

Gravity is for Wimps, Weakly Interacting Massive Particles but because they are weakly interacting we do not see them as forces acting upon them and so cannot tell that they exist, Machos, Massive astrophysical compact halo object, however ebing massive do have significant interaction with gravity so we should be able to see them more readily, only because they are dark we can only see them through transits, both are possible solutions for missing matter. Gosh keep up. Also blame EG she brought it up.

@ Deadlift -- In regards to size, I think (someone correct me here if I'm wrong) Angron is actually more reminiscent of Wolverine than Juggernaugt. Hunched, coiled with anger, not necessarily that much larger than his legion. Mortarion, on the other hand, should be massive.

DrLove42

I'd guess that the next book will eithe rbe Istavan 5 or Prospero, as both are very similar in time scale.

I can see Istavan focusing on Iron Hands, Emp Children, Raven Guard and Word Bearers.

But i can also see them limiting books to 1-2 primarchs a book, which would be wierd.

thomas40kfanboy
09-20-2012, 08:19 AM
would personally speculate that book 2 would be istaavan 5 with iron hands, raven guard and salamanders. then the other traitor legions would be covered in other books (word bearers= calth)(iron warriors=Phall or tallarn) not sure were night lords and apha legion would show up.
then book 3 would hopefully be prospero, which would see the first of the legio custodes units showing up

as for the number of factions per book, i'd guess 2-4 per books with non-marine mini-factions showing up to bulk up 1legion Vs 1legion books.

I find the realistic painting styles favoured by FW don't do a very good job of showing the details on models so much as somewhat more stylized methods of painting do.

I realize this response was originally written before the additional photos (and art-refference material) but it did strike a chord in my mind. Perhaps I'm improperly remembering the HH novels, but I seem to recall mention that unlike typical Astartes, who are not only large, but by nominal human standards misproportioned, the primarchs are described as having a more human shape, just taken to a much larger scale.

Was this just one or two primarchs that I am thinking about, or perhaps this is even inconsistent with different authors? Regardless, it seems to me that Angron looks in some ways more human and inhumanly proportioned, although new images could change that...

I've read all the HH books up to but not including Fear to Tread and it gives off the impression that (as someone else has stated) Primarchs ('cept alpha twins) are bigger than normal marines, who dwarf guard/civ's Angryman doesn't seem really any bigger than the marines he's stamping on.

He looks quite a bit bigger to me.

You also have to take into account that while marines and whatnot are described as 'giant' in the background a lot of people tend to take this and run with it to think they're super huge. Marines in power armour come out at about 8'0". Which is -quite- big and would be very imposing in-person (particularly when you account for how broad they are); it's just less hyperbolic than a lot of people tend to imagine.
Angron looks sufficiently bigger/taller than those marines on his base if you try to match their height against his.

Are you factoring the difference in the quality of the sculpt itself ? That alone is worth the price. I don't think GW sculpts generally come close to FW quality and complexity. When it comes to standard marines, I think the plastics are better quality sculpts, not to mention all the extras you get with them. There is certainly no way they are twice as good. But it's all subjective, everything is worth what it's purchaser will pay for it. And I'll probably end up shelling out for Corax when they get round to doing the cool Primarchs.

What's a hollaback girl?

Tzeentch's Dark Agent

Are you serious?

Straight from Urban Dictionary
A girl that is willing to be treated like a doormat or booty call. She is a girl that will allow guys to do whatever they want with her and will just wait for them to 'holla back' at them.

Love the model, hate the price. £50 for a model that fits on a 40 mm base? FW have been sniffing the super glue again.

To be fair, the model seems about the equivilent size as the Warhammer Forge monsters, and is around the same price. And, after all, it is a primarch, probably the only models that they have ever released of them or will ever release of them. Ever, ever, ever. So FW were never going to be shifting them for £10 in a clamshell blister pack eh lol :D

Go with raised, healthier than the alternative. I knew of the song (having first heard it on an episode of family guy:p) I just didn't know what one was. For some reason I pictured a female polo player.

What would make you think Gwen Stefani was singing about polo?

I can't wait for mortarion, Sanguinius and Horus,

I also expect at some point we'll see the big guy himself.

I reckon it will be based on the Horus vs Emp picture.

Well the ones I really really want are Vulkan Sanguinius and Russ. As it seems to be the Istvan 3 stuff in the first book Im guessing itll be Mortarion or Fulgrim next.

It all comes to to if either Angron is the only one with rules in the book, or just the only one with a model so far.If hes the only one with rules, maybe its only one Primarch a book (making it 18 books long..).

If thats the case....i dont know.

Id guess at 2 primarches a book. Fulgrim and Mannus on Istavan 5. Russ and Magnus on Prospero. Lorgar and Guilliman on Calth. Sanguinius and Dorn at the siege of the emporers palace.

Fw have already said we wont get Horus or the Emporer till the last book

I'll take Perturabo and Alpharius. I'm interested in seeing how they portray some of the more "laid back" primarchs.
