This project has been sitting on my shelf gathering dust for years but I'm finally going to get round to painting it for an upcoming apocalypse game. Going to count as skullhamma unless FW have massively reduced the price of the thunderhawk in the new Aeronautica book (anyone know?)

And a biker boss to ride out of it. Base size is completely wrong but it's apocalypse so hopefully no-one will care.

Amazing work, both the Thunda-Ork and the 'bike'.
What's at the core of the Thunda-Ork, how are you holding it together?

From front to back, it's a valkyrie hull with a plasticard neck and the cockpit of the valkyrie, then some bastion walls closed off with plasticard and then a drop pod at the back for the engine.
If you mean is there some sort of skeletion and pinning etc. then no, it's all held together with plastic glue. There's a fair amount of overlap between the armour plates though which provides extra strength.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering - my large scratch-builds have a habit of going 'snap' when I pick them up.

Oh man this is looking awesome. I love Ork vehicles. In fact is there anyone who doesn't like Orks? If everyone who played 40k played Orks, 40k would be the most low-key hobby of all time.

Always like to give my ork vehicles an all-over coat of rusty metal before I add patchworks of colour etc. Mixed in some FW weatering powders with a black/brown wash followed by some necron compound drybrushing to bring back some more bare metal.

How many Teeth did that cost the Warboss to build :O
And I feel no one should give you issues with the larger "Boss on Bike" That is just too badass to leave out, and who takes Apocalypse seriously?

Burn baby burn. The cartoony flames are a feature of all my previous ork vehicles so had to keep them in

You're really not helping me subdue my urges to start an ork army... Superb build, love everything bout it. Even the cartoony flames, I think they fit in quite nicely.

Sometimes you get lucky and are on the front page summary, sometimes they get lost in the gap between pages.
These models are older but I haven't posted them before. Going to th WHW apocalypse thing at the weekend.
