Can you take a deny the witch save against Null Zone?

No because it's a blessing on the Libby

Yeah, a lot of powers, including the new Force Weapon rules, don't actually target enemy units and thus no Deny the Witch.

well I see your point but the issue is - its not a blessing at all. It works more like a NOVA. But since its not classified as either, then both those don't apply.
So, if one argues its a blessing, somebody could just say its a NOVA. Both are valid arguments. It follows it own rules essentially cause of this. Which is why I'm stumped

It's not a blessing or a nova; the BRB doesn't purport to classify all psychic powers as blessings, conjurations, maledictions, or witchfire. The question is simply, is Null Zone "targeted on an enemy unit?" In this case I'm inclined to say it does. Null Zone doesn't specifically say that it "targets" enemy units within 24" of the librarian, but its affects are applied to them. Similarly, beam powers explicitly "target a point within the power's range," rather than a unit (or even rather than the closest unit, like Jaws of the World Wolf targets the closest model). But we still allow targets affected by beam powers to Deny the Witch, do we not?

Unless a power specifically targets one of your units, then you can't take a deny the witch save against it. The rulebook has been FAQ'd to say that powers like Jaws of the World Wolf do allow a Deny the Witch save, but only the first unit hit can take the save - if it is failed, all units/modes under the line suffer the effects.

I think you can, actually. Because it is a malediction (obvious negative effect on hostiles) which targets all enemy units in 24" from the Libby. So yes, Deny the Witch attempts may be taken.

Yeah, I think "all enemy units within 24"" is good enough to indicate targeting. I don't think we need it to say "targets all enemy units within 24"."
