I like rock. Seriously. I was completely blown away by the band Heavy Honey (http://www.reverbnation.com/heavyhoney) recently. Their video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHkAB7Ecjn4&feature=share) hooked me in from the opening notes. One second you've never heard of a band. The next moment you want to own everything they've ever done. Have any of y'all had that experience?

Bands. Not big, all ready successful bands like the Scorpions. Rather, up-and coming bands that have blown you away... who and why? Please post links because I'd like to check them out... discuss...

Cheers! Cope

Diecast (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KkykjicqxE)

DL, I listened to all three. I like them all. The best of the lot you posted was Beautiful Sin! It took me back to my High School days in the late 80s... good, old fashioned Heavy Metal! Thanks!

I like it. Good! They have a real 70s rock sound going on! I'm digging this. It's nice to hear great bands that aren't already on top of the world... Cope

Give a listen to the two I posted and tell me what you think. I especially like "Soul Selling" by Heavy Honey.

I've had that exact experience with Ancient Bards.

Ancient Bards - Daltor the Dragonhunter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY_VPSEq5so)

The entire album is an epic tale, with each song representing a part of the tale. They have a very 80's vibe.

Oh yeah, i think I pretty much win this thread.

Kinda sums up my entire music taste, except for the fact Industrial music has never really gained mainstream popularity so it never comes as any surprise to me when nobodies heard of this stuff. Pop fans think it just souinsd like "noise" even though they don't even relaise Noise is actually a real sound-artform, metal/rock fans think it sounds like "techno", and techno fans think it sounds like "that bloody rock/metal stuff". I guess I am more of a 90's rivethead though as I can't get into the newer stuff.

Allthough even within that genre, nobody seems to of heard of Allied Vision which always shocks me since I think Oscar probably did the best stuff - litterally sounds like the soundtrack to a bunch of Space marines diving right into the eye of terror :

Also love Numb, canadians had a real talent for creating that multi-layered/complex sci-fi industrial sound :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng0EyBuK42A

Or the more old-school EBM leanings of Plastic Assault, only did one album in 2001 and then vanished..but my god what an album! proper Cyberpunk!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeADcARyoRw

And ill leave the last track as Frontline Assembly's "Modus Operandi"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhEDhp8SQgc&feature=related
this track is why FLA should do the soundtrack to the next Doom game. So twisted and warped.

So far I have

Dope (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEbgHZn15N8)
These guys are cool, very good live

An Endless Sporadic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUH6n91M_Wg)
Awesome sound to these guys, especially love the linked song, various musical influences going on there, love the chaotic electro near the end

In Flames (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuOW9q0OCAA)
I don't know why these guys aren't more popular, really good live and in studio
