Hmm....shame I already have 11 of them

Is DV Figure Case a carry case for the army?

Also....Autarch....but only one of them? Why not both models?

Because there's one already out?

EDIT: Also, SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Oh, it also means that CSM aren't in September, apparently they are October and WoC are in November.

Yes the other Autarch has already been Finecastrated.

Ah cool

Also this only goes up to 15th September. Its not impossible for chaos to still be out in the following weeks. A 2 week gap (22nd) would allow some recovery of wallets since the starter box.

Or it might go up on advance on the 29th

Meh on all that Eldar pansy stuff. GRIMALDUS.

Meh, it's just Grimaldus getting Finecastrated too.

A true VIKING WARRIOR.
As Robbaz would say "DYING IS FOR PU$$IES!"

He's a gorgeous model anyway, I wasn't expecting a BT codex revamp ever. (though silently pray for it)

Also, why do we have these prices in fake currency? I DEMAND PROPER MONEYS.

I've said before and I'll say it again, I would be amazed if they release a box set and a new codex in the same month, especially when they both contain the same army. It would dilute the sales of both too much and these latest rumours would seem to support this.

Well I guess I can get another 20 of them then :P

GW certainly has us in a stockholm syndrome type of trance.

They re-release age-old kits in a material that everyone on the internet hates and people think that they're the benevolent St. Wenceslas of wargaming :P

Well, my 25 metal ones will be luckier than all the johnny-come-lately's finecast's.

Yep. I mean everything is just finecast releleases as far as we know, the only really notable thing is the 30% price reduction on Wraithguard. Apart from the boxed set and case obviously.

Space Marine Sternguard Veteran Weapons 15-Sep-12 $13.50
Meltaguns 15-Sep-12 $10.00
Plasma Guns 15-Sep-12 $10.00
Lightning Claws 15-Sep-12 $19.75
Thunder Hammers 15-Sep-12 $19.75

Space Marine "bits!" These are probably going to be small packs of weapons in Finecast, like the Lash Whip and Bonesword "pack" that they did for Tyranids? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I knew that they (up to recently) sold the pack of meltaguns in metal, but have they sold any of the above as "just" packs of weapons before?

I like Finecast. :( And I'm on the internet! Admittedly it's never nearly so exciting as big whizzbang new releases, but there's usually cool things in each little wave. Eventually The Grand Finecastering will be done, too.

They've never done stand-alone Sternguard guns as a booster before, unless it's a rebranding of the old Deathwatch bolters. Which, honestly, would still be cool, but I'm hoping for big ammo hoppers and combi-weapons!

Meltaguns and plasma guns were available in metal, as were the claws and hammers, I believe.

I like Finecast too.

Also, I really like the idea of LIGHTNING CLAWS. :p

Affordable wraithguard?!

Want want want want want

Yes, they previously sold the guns and the Claws/Hammers, but they were metal and the claws/hammers were/ are for the old style Terminators. I don't think even with Finecast that GW will release current Hammers/Claws.

I think the Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield conversion kit is the one for power armour models.

I used the metal kit to create some vanguard vets for my Blood Angels with jump packs and hammer/shield. Expensive as hell points-wise but man are they cool.

Space Marine Sternguard Veteran Weapons

1. Yes please
2. The bitz services aren't going to like this one :)
3. I hope it do include combi weapons, if not it's a bomb.

From my understanding they are Terminator weapons! They'd work as Power armour... but they are for the old Small, metal Terminators. :D

So happy about the Storm Guardian weapons pack. I've wanted to model my wyches with chainswords for ages.

the only really notable thing is the 30% price reduction on Wraithguard.

They are taking a realistic view of Finecast quality, the price reduction takes into account that 30% of the model will be bubbles.

Some great stuff here, but I think I'm still just going to wait for plastic Wraithguard. I don't even care how long that wait will be. :p

The Storm Guardian conversion kit is nice though, although didn't we see a preview model for Forgeworld Storm Guardians a while ago?

Think you might be thinking of the corsair kit Anggul, also I too am excited about a storm guardin kit. WOOT!!!

Wraithguard. PLASTIC Wraithguard. AFFORDABLE plastic Wraithguard.

Happy dance!
I can finally, finally, after a decade of wanting to, collect the Iyaden army i've longed to collect after reading about their near demise in an Epic 40k article in White Dwarf. And i won't have to remortgage the house to do so! Harumble!

Am I the only one who likes it?

Nope, I've replaced all my metals with it. I think it's great.

Finecast > Metal.

Lighter, harder to break, easier to convert, easier to basespray....

But on topic - are these Wraithguard new sculpts or just conversions to other materials?

eldargal
08-23-2012, 05:11 AM
Conversions to Finecast as far as we know, I'd say it is almost certain if it hasn't been stated outright on whichever forum someone has the spreadhsheet sent out to retailers.
