Right then folks! Quick update.

I'll be contacting Warhammer World tomorrow to book some tables. I'm thinking about 10 for all day gaming, for an as yet unspecified weekend in April.

There is also a new thread in the Oubliette, discussing the possibility of a bitz box bash, making models to be auctioned off for an as yet unselected charity. If this sounds fun, I ask only that you bring your own bitz to contribute to the pile! This will also give people something to do between games, or if you fancy a break. ANYTHING goes, aiming for terrain, characters and possible even units. There is no minimum contribution, nor is any contribution necessary, but obviously the more bitz, the better the models. The better the models, the more we can raise for charidee!

Just having a quick flick through the past posts on this...

If you need somewhere to stay, most people go for the Holiday Inn or Premier Inn on Castle Marina, or the P&J Hotel on Derby Road (an independent one that supposedly does a good breakfast). There are also plenty of options in town which are better for staggering back to after a session in the Trip to Jerusalem.

As for getting an article on the BoLS frontpage, I have writer access to that, so I can always put something up and ask BigRed to put it on the publish list.

WHW's policy on models being painted is that they 'prefer' it if you are using a painted army, particularly in big show games. However, even in official events (such as legendary battlefields last weekend), the level of painting was 'questionable'! Personally, I would say undercoated as a minimum, but I would like to think most people could field 3 colours.

If anyone is Nottingham way and fancies a few games before then, let me know, I'm only a few miles up the road.

As for point levels and armies - I can pretty much do whatever is needed. Got Raven Guard, World Eaters, some Eldar, Imperial Guard, Daemonhunters, Daemons etc etc... If people want to do a big narrative game with secret objectives, daft special rules, random 3rd party units and the like, I will happily GM that too.

But i think its best if we don't advertise too crazy big.

Firstly if we are anything more than a gathering of friends WHW WON'T LET US IN. They do not allow external events there any more. We need to just be a group of friends who've booked tables and played together.

A lot of people liked my hat, and now I have a nice leather drinking tankard to add to my collection. david5th and I were the only ones to turn up (unless people just didn't spot the hat...) but we had a good chat and enjoyed the atmosphere of a very full gaming hall :)
