Yes, because I heart Baneblades.

I'd be okay with it since the relationship between Hull points and Struture points makes them a bit less intimidating. Maybe restrict them to double FOC games, though.

I wouldn't begrudge someone the chance to field their Baneblade above 2000 points, with the superheavy fielded as its own detachment.

I think the issue with Super-Heavies is the split fire function that "gun-boats" like the baneblade can offer, or the issue of taking up a large enough foot print that there won't be much room left to deploy/ move around on a normal table size, aka Titans.

No. This would be bad, because I don't need a valid excuse to splurge on a Stompa.

I'm not sure it is a good idea. Someone brings a baneblade to a 2000pt game, then their opponent brings a Revenant titan, the result would be tears. With Apocalypse you at least know what you are getting.

Isn't it called Spearhead?

Yep, Spearhead ahas a datasheet thingamie that allows you to take a single super heavy tank, but Spearhead is an expansion not regular 40k.

I agree, this would be bad... Especially for Tyranids...

It would be bad.
As has been said before, with apoc you can go bezerk with everything and you know what to expect, in normalK it is just not cricket.

I play in a 40k superheavy comp every year.
its 2250 pts, normal FoC (assume they might double it this year) just with a Superheavy allowed. No more than 4 Strength D shots per person per turn
It would be bad to see them in normal 40k. If one side loses their superheavy without damaging the opponent too fast then they lose. The overwhelming Fire power just smashes you.
We also see DE and Tau armies, not playing a Suprheavy (DE by Necessity, Tau by choice) and seeing them get kicked into the ground despite their impressive firepower. The Tau and DE player both rage quitted by the 5th game of 6 due to how bad it was for them.
Also superheavies open the gateway to something far more insidious and disgustingly hard....Gargantuan Creatures. Both years this comps been run its been won by a Chaos player with one of the Greater Demons. They're just impossible to kill. You can point every Strehgth D weapon you have at them, wound them 4 times and watch their invulnerable save shrug off 2-3 wounds off them. They then assault something like 36" and destroy you before you have the slightest chance

No. If I put my Chaos Baneblade on the field next to two daemonically-possessed Vindicators, a Defiler, two Daemon Princes, two Rhinos plus whatever is left in the points department for more vehicles my opponent would probably call it on the spot.
If it was ever done, you would still have to use the points value as part of your main army list; saying "take 2000 points, then a super-heavy" would just allow someone to bring a Titan to a fight with a Baneblade.

If the rules were such that a superheavy wouldn't sway the game too much i.e. any opponents have a reasonable capability of destroying it before they were wiped out, and it was a 'ask your opponent if they are cool with it' rule, then I'd be fine with it.
If they were allowed in normal games, people would have to build superheavy proof armies, and it just turns into a case of whoever can spend the most money wins.

I wouldn't begrudge someone the chance to field their Baneblade above 2000 points, with the superheavy fielded as its own detachment.
I foresee this as how Apocalypse would be altered for 6th edition.

I kind of like the idea of them being your fortification choice (but only up to 3 Structure points... despite having my own warlord, as they'd quickly over power the other aside without superheavies first) or being able to take one instead of a second FOc over 2000 points.
For the most part they are so expensive that they will limit what else you can actually take in smaller games, whilst still being relatively easy to kill for balanced lists (or anything with more than one MC!). In bigger Games one wouldn't be too much of an issue to deal with, and taking up the second FOC would prevent people combining a Baneblade with an absolute ton of Russes for a truely terrifying and diverse gunline that most armies would struggle to get close to or outshoot, for example. However it would need to be one or the other of these options, and maybe a complete ban on them below 1000 points, as then they would be overwhelming.

If someone pays the points for it I wouldn't stop them useing it.
