yup looks like an industrial carpet tile LOL

who would'a thought..... granted the texure of said carpet is more like sandpaper than actual carpet, its the same stuff they use in places like the jobcenters and schools.

Also really like the reading-lamps being used as street lamps! Just the right size for lighting.

Brilliant picture, if only the illumination at the fore had been dialled down a touch illumination from the LED street lamps would have created more depth on the Wraithlird model. It would certainly compliment the illumination from behind. Contrast is key.

The carpet is kinda throwing me off. It basically doesn't look like terrain--it looks like they're just playing on the floor.

There's nothing wrong with playing on the floor--I spent the first several years of my wargaming career playing on the floor, usually with stacks of books and kitchen utensils for terrain (when nothing looks right anyway, all that matters is that you have meaningful shapes, really)--but I guess unless it's supposed to be obvious that they're playing on the floor (look at us all slummin' it on the floor!) I think it ends up being more than a little tacky.

Awesome model, though. New Eldar are gonna be awesome, I think.

Whatever you say. It was pretty obviously carpet to me. So much so that I didn't realize it was meant to be taken as anything else until someone mentioned that it looked like a street. I get it, but I still don't see "street" when I look at the picture. The carpet loops are plainly visible, thanks to the macro lens...

I was a little taken aback that they'd just plunked their nice showcase model down on the floor, to photograph it, to be honest.

The cobblestones aren't carpet. It looks to me like cheap-arse styrene paving sheets. Those things are churned out in long continuous rolls by machines that reproduce the same pattern over and over and over again, and then cut the roll into sheets. The uniformity is unnatural, and your eye picks it up right away, much like your eye picks out the weaving pattern in level loop carpets like berber.

It was an unfortunate choice. There are lots of cobblestone tiles available that look far more natural.
