I've been debating (with myself) long and hard (ha) whether or not to include Warhammer Forge in my list of alternate fantasy miniatures. They are afterall aprt of GW so technically not an alternate company, but at the same time their range is seperate from GWs as are the design studios. So it goes on the list.

Warhammer Forge (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer), as everyone should know by now, is the new (2011) Warhammer division of Forge World. Like FW proper they produce a range of campaign books, the first of which is Tamurkhan throne of Chaos. The second, due out later this year, is the Battle of Black Fire Pass.

They also have Monstrous Arcanum, first in a series of books providing lots of new and nifty monsters for players to use via scrolls of binding:

Naturally, this being Forge World, they have a fantastic range of resin models to go with the books:

At the risk of disagreeing with you, I don't think FW should be part of your list. They are ultimately GW models, made expressly for use in Warhammer, whereas the others are not. Also, all the new FW releases normally get their own threads on the fantasy forum, whereas your project shines a light on companies that don't get the same level of coverage, so personally I'd keep them out. But hey, it's your list so do what you like with it and feel free to ignore me! :)

You make a valid point, and it is one I've made to myself over the months I've been thinking about this (not constantly, obviously, I'm not that obsessed). But I want the list to be as complete as possible and FW do provide alternatives to regular GW models that you can't get in their stores. So it will go in the list but I won't be updating this thread as I do many of the others (haphazardly I admit). It's here for completeness and the focus shall remain on highlighting companies many people have not have heard of.:)

Fair enough. I get the point about alternative miniatures and they do some nice stuff that would make good substitutes. The following Skinwolves who I really like would work perfectly well in a Beast of Chaos, Ogres, Skaven or VC army, so I get where you are coming from. Hell, with a bit of imagination and conversion you could make them avatars of Ulric and use the profile for Demigryph knights.
