Hey chaps

At linky appears the old Chaos Marines. But, can anyone tell me, is the NURGLE armour, MkII or MkIII?

Mix of both (makes sense as Mk3 was just the heavy version of 2).

The helmet is 3 (goggles vs single visor), as is the single piece chest plate and the shoulder pads. Arms are Mk2, as 3 has extra plating on the bracers (seen here (http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg251/Marshal_Weiss/img47285f1a199c4.jpg)). Legs are tricky as the thighs are a copy of the contemporary Mk2 model's (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1490654&prodId=prod1140240), but the shins and boots aren't, and look more like a Mk7 style.

My guess would be that the mini is a mix of the styles, but re-sculpted from the Mk3 model in the GW link above (or maybe the Mk2 in this pic (http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a118/Gagoc/Sources/GW_Mk2s.jpg)), adding in some Mk2 elements and changing the lower legs to make them stouter for visual balance.

It looks closest to the spiked helmet and sword fella in Gotty's last pic - even has the droopy bollock guard bit.

Awesome thanks chaps.

It's an older helm, as previously noted, but they're a much later style of legs, notice they're rather like the current plastic Space Marine leg majority. Also, the shoulders aren't the old II/III style.

They're Mk3 shoulders - it's the only mark with studded rims. Mk2 has studded edging with no raised rims, Mks 4-6 have neither rims nor edging studs and Mks7+ have smooth raised rims.

Mark 4-8 shoulder pads are indistinguishable from one another except in regards to Chapter specific details or artifice.

I have them right in front of me. Although, I have seen art that corroborates what you said. I choose to go with the miniatures over art though.
