Ork Codex page 12... I'm confused.

There is talk about Warbands and Tribes but also about Clans.

No problem there but then it becomes confusing...

One part says that some Orks become obsessed with Clan ideals and seek out like-minded individuals to create a Warband of a single clan (something like Kult of Speed I recon).

Couple of sentences later warbands are reformed from survivors so members of different clans will band together in a single warband. But after the war they will break up again (or become freebooters) because of inter-clan rivalry. So this hints that Warbands are always single clan.

So I want to know if Warbands are always single clan affairs or always mixed clan affairs ? (or both ? but why would they break up after a Waaagh!).

Just want to know for my Ork Warband fluff...

Thanks for your input

Warbands can be of mixed clans, but their different lifestyle choices will usually cause them to fight each other or go their seperate ways without a non-Orky enemy to keep them focussed.
So most long lasting warbands are mono-Clanned as they put up with each other better (by Orkish standards at least) between wars. This is not to say a strong Warboss or Kaptain couldn't keep boyz of different Clans under his boot to have an effective multi-Clan warband, but it would be less common.

The Warbands, or Waagh!'s tend to include any ork that wants to join in, regardless of clan affiliation such as, Goffs; Speed Freakz; Bad Moonz; etc.. Due to the lack of established leadership, such as Ghazkull Thraka or other notable Warbosses, the Waagh!/ Warband will quickly start infighting to establish whose ideal's are superior when faced with no opponent or suffer a huge loss of their upper echelons.
